Your recent addition to Halloween II (2009 film) has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 00:14, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It is a copyvio. You are not violating copyright, the uploader on YouTube is the one violating ABC's copyright. He does not have permission to reproduce that interview on YouTube, thus he is violating their copyright. As such, Wikipedia cannot use it as we would be promoting the violation of copyright. This is why YouTube is virtually an unusable source, because people upload things that they do not have the license to upload. It doesn't matter if you attribute it to ABC, the fact remains that the actual source you are using is a violation of ABC's copyright.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 00:31, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Using ABC's website is fine, because they own the program. That said, most of what you had was irrelevant to this film, because this is a sequel and Zombie's portrayal of Loomis in his 2007 remake was different than what was done in the original series. Only how he characterizes Loomis in the sequel is relevant.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 00:39, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It is an interview for the 2009 film, not the 2007 film. Look at the date of the interview. Ebonyskye (talk) 00:42, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I know when the interview took place, but pay attention to the question and Zombie's response. He was initially talking about Donald Pleasance in a general sense. He was not speaking about what the actor did in the 1981 sequel, but what he did overall. That is not relevant to the 2009 film's page, because Zombie's "Loomis" was already in existence. What is relevant is what Zombie says about "his" Loomis with respect to the sequel.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 01:48, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:NoxArcana.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Aspects (talk) 19:08, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please read templates before you remove them

[edit]

Please read a template before you remove it, "Please do not remove this tag." It then goes on to explain what to do if you feel it is non-replaceable. Nothing is listed in the rationale or your edit summary to justify that it is non-replaceable. As such, I am going to put the template back on the file page. Aspects (talk) 08:05, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Actually I did read the license before I added the template. It does state it is not replaceable, but there is no reason given to back it up. In fact, all of your edits show me that it is replaceable, so I my addition of the template is still correct in my opinion because the licensing is wrong. If this is a picture of the most recent members and they are still together as a band, then it is likely a free image could be found or created. Aspects (talk) 17:37, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:NoxArcana.jpg listed for deletion

[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, File:NoxArcana.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Angus McLellan (Talk) 15:20, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Songs of the Dragon has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Can't verify it is accurate or even existed. Doesn't meet WP:V.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hobit (talk) 03:18, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Songs of the Dragon.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Songs of the Dragon.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. — ξxplicit 21:49, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Problems with upload of File:Blood-of-Angels.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Blood-of-Angels.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 19:05, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If the previous user would stop removing the Fair use album template, then there would not be a problem. I entered the copyright info again. Ebonyskye (talk) 22:34, 16 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Carnival of Lost Souls, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Something wicked this way comes (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

I meant to fix the error that previously existed. Previously the link was to Something This Way Comes (phrase), that page was apparently removed at some point. The phease which refers to the line in Macbeth, but the music album is actually is reference to the novel by Bradbury. I'll go about fixing it. Ebonyskye (talk) 20:51, 11 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Nox Arcana. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Lord Roem ~ (talk) 19:33, 21 June 2014 (UTC) I already reported User:94.134.8.212 who has been reverting and removing citations and sourced content. I have been posting on the talk page as well, but the user seems to be intent on vandalism. Ebonyskye (talk) 23:51, 21 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. Nox Arcana

[edit]

A band's own website is not really a reliable source. Remember that wikipedia is not a repository of everything that someone claims but rather everything that is verifiable. Otherwise we might as well just publish press releases. Regardless, you are much more insistent on fighting over this than I am, so I'm backing off. If you happen to have any connection to the band by the way, ethics dictates you disclose that. Wickedjacob (talk) 03:17, 14 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

see your talk page for my reply. Also, I thought you were asking for more references. I didn't think your edit was the final word on the matter. So there's no fight. Ebonyskye (talk) 09:41, 14 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Is there a specific quote from a reliable source to this effect that you could provide? Wickedjacob (talk) 04:57, 15 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. It's the first ref after that paragraph. I located the archived article on the actual newspaper site. Ebonyskye (talk) 07:12, 27 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Almost forgot, here is where this appears on the band's Facebook page, where they refer to a haunted attraction based on their albums. 1, 2, 3. Should I add these references? I've seen other articles on Wikipedia use Facebook posts as refs. Ebonyskye (talk) 07:48, 27 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Crimson Winter: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

With no citations to independent sources, this would appear to fail GNG and NALBUM. Normally that would just mean redirecting to the article for the film, but we don't have one and it would appear unlikely that we ever will as it doesn't appear to be notable at a glance [1].

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. signed, Rosguill talk 19:27, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
