Hello and welcome to Wikipedia, Egorlu! Adding a new article to Wikipedia is one of the toughest things for a novice editor to take on. I would suggest you gain experience first by contributing to other articles. What's the topic of the article you had in mind? Perhaps you could add information about it to other relevant pages. You can find other ideas for things to help out with at the WP:Task Center. If you do decide to jump straight into creating an article, the best way to do it would be through WP:AfC. Thanks for the reply. The article is about a new software that has plans to go open-source and has picked up the interest of a couple dozens people.
That is why I thought about writing an introductory article about the program, its purpose, features and some other basic information.

To be honest, not at first glance, no. What is the software in question? If it has only captured the interest of a few dozen people, it is probably not notable enough for a Wikipedia page yet. Check out WP:GNG; basically, something has to receive significant, independent coverage in reliable sources. Those terms are defined on the linked page. The software we're talking about is a system that manages distributed jobs.
I'm one of the contributors, so I have a lot of information :)
Obviously, I am aware of the fact that articles should be encyclopedic and definitely not an advertisement. If there weren't plans to publish the software as an open-source project, I wouldn't attempt to document it.
It has picked the interest of a couple of big firms (no publicly available quote unfortunately) and been featured in a blog post by Amazon AWS.

Yes, it's better that the material go there, but since you have a conflict of interest, it's recommended that you don't edit the page directly. Instead, you can create a section on the article's talk page asking for an uninvolved editor to make the changes you seek. You could use the Edit Request Wizard to do this. I'm happy to be that uninvolved editor and help make sure the article stays neutral while containing all relevant, notable information. Ganesha811 (talk) 13:49, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
