Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Enlightenment fan, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, your edit to John Maus does not conform to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV). Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.

There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Questions page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. Below are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Hi there, I think there must be some mistake. As mentioned in the note I left explaining the edit, I have directly quoted John's joint words, from his own website. The source is therefore impeccable.
Him going to the trouble of listing 'progressives' as something he is 'against' is revealing, as the term is well defined and highly relevant to contemporary political debate. Many people are indeed against progressives and progressivism, and the impartiality for this is his, not mine. I am not displaying bias by pointing this out, but being helpful, as John has been somewhat opaque about his political leanings, which are of interest, hence the topic already constitutes a subsection of the wikipage.
Very happy to discuss this further. Am not clear how I have displayed a biased point of view (and wonder if my motives are being confused with the political impartiality that John has displayed). Enlightenment fan (talk) 15:43, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Kleuske, can you be more specific about how you think the edit didn’t conform with Wikipedia policy? Am genuinely not clear, so would appreciate clarification about how, or if you still think the edit wasn’t in order. We all have biases, but I am not aware of having displayed bias through my proposed edit, which sought to provide clarity to a topic of existing interest. No mistake. See my reply on my talk-page. Kleuske (talk) 11:02, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
