First husband

[edit]

You wrote John De Monte for her first husband, while in Champion Lancastrians Elizabeth Ashworth lists him as Emanuel Demontee, here. Ashworth also says on the previous page that the brother was saved, but the sister lost in the 1795 shipwreak. --Bejnar (talk) 20:55, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

For Demontee, see the note against the text. As there are 80 years between the source I was using and the one you are quoting, more accurate information may have come to light, or indeed the record being referenced may have been rather illegible. I wrote this a while ago, intending to revise the main article, but would have to go back to these sources to double check. -- (talk) 22:28, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I saw that note on Demontee, but it didn't help with the first name. Since I have beefed up the Kitty Wilkinson article, incorporating many of your suggestions, it might be better to work off that one for now. There is also a discrepancy in the sources in the date that she, or she and her husband, were appointed supervisors of the public baths. Some have it as 1842 while others say 1846. --Bejnar (talk) 22:43, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
