How do I make userboxes?

[edit]

I need some help with creating userboxes. I've seen Help:Userboxes and frankly all the syntax and Wikijargon confuses me (noob editor here!). Can someone show me how to make a template or add a userbox, and how to apply that to my user page and/or subpage?

Before creating your own userbox you may want to take a look at WP:Userboxes/Gallery, which already has quite a selection. If you still want to create a new userbox in addition to all those, the easiest way to do so is to create a sub-page of your userpage with a descriptive name (compare for example User:AusTerrapin/Box:Jazz Fusion) and there to make use of Template:Userbox. The template page gives code you can copy-paste and fill out, explains the available parameters, and gives examples of use. Once you have done that, you can display the userbox on other pages with this code: {{User:Gearzein/YourChosenSubpageName}} (where, of course, "YourChosenSubpageName" needs to be replaced with whatever name you chose for your user subpage). Ah thank you Gearzein (talk)Gearzein

Hello, Gearzein. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, List of halo weapons, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. ubiquity (talk) 18:14, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
