Climate change

[edit]

Hi - I received a notification that you were editing the article on climate change. It looks like your edits were reverted by Coldcreation and I wanted to explain why this happened.

The main reasons for this are ultimately ones of tone and sourcing. The sourcing was the main reason given by Coldcreation for the removal, as you didn't include any sourcing that would back up the claims made in your additions. It looks like you mentioned sourcing, however the citations need to be in-line so people can verify the content. This is incredibly important with articles, but especially ones that are prone to controversy such as climate change. What this means is that when you add to an article like this, you need to make sure that the content is sourced and with the best possible sourcing you can find. Academic and scholarly sources are a good example of what is usually considered to be a "best possible source" for articles like this. Another issue with the article, however, was one of tone as the content was written like a persuasive essay where the intent is to get the reader to see things a specific way. With topics like this you need to make sure that the material is neutrally written and doesn't contain any original research, as this will also lead to content getting removed from an article.

I hope that this helps explain the content's removal! Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 14:44, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
