IMDb as a source

[edit]

Hotwiki, is IMDb an appropriate source in citing episode synopses? Zanbarg (talk) 12:47, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No. Hotwiki (talk) 12:48, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What about the websites of its full episodes? Zanbarg (talk) 13:16, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Do you really want to use more first party references (GMA Network.com and GMA Network's Youtube channel) for the episodes section? It already has too many. The article is close to being flagged for the lack of third party references, and so don't use gmanetwork.com and their YouTube account, as a reference to episode summaries. Its not going to help the article at all. Hotwiki (talk) 13:30, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Can you check my article draft?

[edit]

Hotwiki, do you check and approve wikipedia draft articles? If yes, please review my draft regarding GMA Network's new series. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Maka_(TV_series) Zanbarg (talk) 10:36, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm just a regular editor in Wikipedia and I no longer want to edit drafts, after I removed them in my watchlist. I already told you in your talkpage, that you should use third party references. A gmanetwork.com article for a Wikipedia article for a Gma show, isn't qualified as a third party reference. The article has 12 references from Gmanetwork.com and that would not look good for an article reviewer. Try using Pep.ph, LionhearTV, The Philippine Star, Manila Bulletin, SunStar, Philippine Daily Inquirer, ABS-CBN as your reference for Gmanetwork Wikipedia articles. Try searching in those websites about Maka. Hotwiki (talk) 10:43, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have any social profiles that we can discuss article topics so we don't have to add another topic in your talk page? Zanbarg (talk) 10:51, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't share it to anyone from Wikipedia. Hotwiki (talk) 10:53, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Sorry for my talkative behavior but how is the format of a user page in wikipedia? I want to design mine. Zanbarg (talk) 10:56, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think there's a single format for user pages. You can edit your userpage, the way you want it. Just don't use copyrighted photos for the user page. Hotwiki (talk) 10:58, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. By the way, about our beef in the past month. I apologize for my attitude and rudeness. Zanbarg (talk) 11:01, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There was no beef. I don't take any things here in Wikipedia personally. Thank you though for apologizing. Hotwiki (talk) 11:02, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. And last question, what are some of the most reliable sources in creating a film or television series from other countries? Zanbarg (talk) 11:12, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure about most reliable sources. However, Variety.com, The Hollywood Reporter, BBC, The New York Times, San Francisco Chronicles, Time Magazine and Deadline.com are safe to use in Wikipedia articles. Hotwiki (talk) 11:17, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your help, Hotwiki! This can help me to improve my wikipedia edits. Zanbarg (talk) 11:21, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Let me ask you a question

[edit]

Hi, i am new user in Wikipedia. can i ask why some idols in JYP Entertainment are categorized as soloist? from what i seen, JYP only had J.Y. Park and Yaochen as official debut soloist, other idols had their own groups, why should they categorized as soloist? Main Pop Girl (talk) 11:52, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Main Pop Girl: This was already discussed in the talkpage of JYP Entertainment. Have you seen these articles[1][2][3]? So are Nayeon, Jihyo and Tzuyu still not soloists after their record label JYP Entertainment released a solo Ep for them? That right there is self explanatory. Hotwiki (talk) 12:01, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Those soloists I mentioned are also added in this JYP Entertainment discography Wikipedia article, when JYP Entertainment released a solo Ep for them. Hotwiki (talk) 12:07, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, all right. But why on the JYP Entertainmenr former artist list there is some names written in double. As on the soloist list, there's Suzy, but why is Suzy's name again on Miss A? Main Pop Girl (talk) 12:08, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Suzy leave JYP, so don't need add her name again in former soloists category, as she official leave JYP with Miss A Main Pop Girl (talk) 12:09, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
why not follow List of former SM and YG Entertainment artists, listed all formers artists in one cateogory : Former Artists. don't need to separated members from their groups as they leave company together Main Pop Girl (talk) 12:15, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There is no rule to follow the Wikipedia pages of YG Entertainment and SM Entertainment. So you want me to remove individuals who were given a solo music release by JYP Entertainment, because they were/are also in a girl group? Would that make the list of soloists incomplete because you keep insisting to leave out group members that ventured into solo projects under the same company? Hotwiki (talk) 12:19, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
if it can't be changed. Yeah, all right. Main Pop Girl (talk) 12:22, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please check Bae Suzy discography, you can see there that Jyp Entertainment released Solo eps for Suzy. Suzy is listed as a member of Miss A and a soloist, because she was both when she was under JYP Entertainment. Hotwiki (talk) 12:15, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
