Pinpoint citations

[edit]

Normally when providing a citation for a specific fact by using a published book or article (reliable source), it is appropriate to specify the page number. You added a citation in the United States v. Lopez article to a casebook in the middle of the statement of the facts. In this instance, the best statement of the facts that the court considered is the court's statement of the facts, and as such since it is an article about a legal opinion, it is not necessary to cite exterior sources, unless they add something that was not in the opinion. Law review articles are usually better sources than casebooks. You also should take a look at citation form as discussed at Wikipedia:Citing sources#How to format citations. --Bejnar (talk) 05:45, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Templates

[edit]

When making edits inside a template, you might find that adding brackets for links is unnecessary as the links are built in. See, for example, Gabbe's correction of 23:08, 27 November 2009 to your edits to List of United States Supreme Court cases, volume 78 for The Collector v. Day. Templates can be recognized by their use of {{ to start and }} to end the template. See Wikipedia:Template namespace for more information. --Bejnar (talk) 05:56, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Tiger Woods, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you.
