Assignment Five: Peer Review

The information you have added to your sandbox this far seems to be more of a list rather than actual text. How are you going to incorporate this information to the article itself? The language seems short and choppy but I think that is just because of the list format that it currently is in. there was one phrase in particular that i wanted to draw attention to:" Journalists and editors don't produce articles, but rather stories that have viewpoints and values that are meant to be analyzed." I wanted to draw your attention to this phrase in particular because the language dose not sound "wikipedian," but more opinionated. Be careful with this and try to stay objective. Otherwise I think you have valuable information that you could easily add to the article to make it more substantial.

I think your draft features some of the most important sections to be included in the 'Allan Bell' article. The original has basically anything on him up to this point, so extending on background information and his discoveries in the academic world/field of linguistic is a good idea, in my opinion at least. I personally have never heard of him, so highlighting why he plays a role in the linguistic world might be good. It probably helps to pick his most important work that made him popular and extend on its content and role in the academic world.

Additionally, I would extend a little bit more on his personal and professional background - for example: You state that he didn't have a sufficient background to study linguistics, so where did he get his undergrad and in what field, same for grad school, where did he go in London for his research and where did he work as a journalist? (His CV might be a helpful source for that kind of background information if he has one online). Kkanders55 (talk) 23:48, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
