The New Page Patroller's Barnstar
Everytime I go to RPP, there's always report from MuffledThud about pages needing salting or protecting, and that must mean a lot of work at NPP. Scanning through the patrol log backs that up. Keep up the good work! GedUK  14:08, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Article deletion (C. James Block/Alexander D. Farris)

[edit]

Dear sir/madame,

I believe it is inappropriate to suggest the deletion of the aforementioned pages. These two journalists are well-known in Michigan, United States and seem to be well-sourced enough for the length of the articles.

Thank you, Dajayhawk —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dajayhawk (talkcontribs) 16:01, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I see you've already commented at the AFD discussion, thanks. MuffledThud (talk) 16:03, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edits to Lambeth wards

[edit]

Hi

Thanks for your edits to the little project I am working on currently - that of adding all 23 local government electoral wards in Lambeth. Please could you make them all consistent in titling - currently there is Coldharbour Ward but the rest are x ward and Larkhall ward is listed as larkhall (ward)

Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lambethlife (talkcontribs) 22:02, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done: see Category:Wards of Lambeth. Thanks for contributing all those articles! MuffledThud (talk) 22:13, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Mae's Lost Empire" page deletion

[edit]

Hi could you explain why this page has been deleted? This isn't just another band page they're a signed act with an album out on worldwide distribution and management. Album's available in shops, people are going to want to know about these guys.

Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wiki woteva (talkcontribs) 11:47, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. The article was deleted by an admin, who cited in the log "‎...Article about a band, singer, musician, or musical ensemble, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject". The band don't appear to be notable yet, as there's no significant coverage of them online from WP:Reliable sources. But if you can find some reliable secondary sources showing that they are notable, I'd be happy to help you re-create the article. Thanks, MuffledThud (talk) 11:52, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Martin Alper

[edit]

What do I need to do to establish notability on Martin Alper? Will the article be deleted? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gaius Helen Mohiam (talkcontribs) 09:54, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome. The subject of that article appears to be non-notable per WP:BIO, and none of the references linked have any information on him. Can you find any WP:Reliable sources on him? If you like, I can move the article to a subpage of your user page while you work on it. Thanks, MuffledThud (talk) 09:56, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I added a source to the article, is that not enough? The reference mentions him on page 2 btw. Gaius Helen Mohiam (talk) 09:57, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not yet, as the source doesn't actually mention him. MuffledThud (talk) 09:59, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It does, on page 2. Gaius Helen Mohiam (talk) 09:59, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Aha, yes you're right, it's on page 2, I missed the update to your comment. Still, it only mentions him in passing: can you find any articles about Alper himself?
I'll try, there doesn't seem to be much on Google. Gaius Helen Mohiam (talk) 10:02, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, and please let me know if I can be of any help with this. MuffledThud (talk) 10:04, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No worries! Collaborative editing is like that... MuffledThud (talk) 11:22, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi MuffledThud, just dropping by to make three quick points:

  1. I didn't close the debate.
  2. I was not criticizing you, merely offering a piece of advice. I am sincerely sorry if you took it as criticism, as that was not how it was meant.
  3. However, please also note that if a page can be deleted under CSD, then it's quicker and better to do so, rather than subjecting it to a AfD debate (that probably could have been snow'd anyway)

Kindest regards, SpitfireTally-ho! 20:52, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You're right, you didn't close the debate. Apologies for the misunderstanding: it's been done to me before, but that's not your fault. MuffledThud (talk) 20:54, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, that's happened to me too. Kind regards, SpitfireTally-ho! 21:05, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's normal practice to close an AfD per G7 if the author clearly requests deletion, and nobody else objects to deletion. Nothing was unusual about this case, so I closed the discussion. Regards, JamieS93 22:57, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Quite right: I was arguing that page-blanking is not acceptable for the purposes of closing an AFD, but explicitly requesting deletion (e.g. in an edit summary or a one-liner in the article, etc.) is an acceptable way. But I'm quoting the AFD template, not policy, so I could be wrong about this. MuffledThud (talk) 23:02, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Vajazzling

[edit]

Yeah, you could have knocked me over with a feather, as the saying goes. The things people will say on television constantly astound me. Needless to say, I am in 100% agreement with your impulse to tag this as a made-up word. Frankly, I wish it HAD been a hoax. If the prod doesn't remain, let's agree to AfD this ASAP. Accounting4Taste:talk 21:30, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed.
PS: Eeeeew. MuffledThud (talk) 21:32, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Eeeeeeeew indeed. I think Swarovski should sue Jennifer Love Hewitt. Accounting4Taste:talk 21:33, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but consider the consequent Streisand effects... the helpful nightly diagrams on CNN... O tempora, o mores. MuffledThud (talk) 21:37, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

RogueX10 Ok, not sure I'm doing this right, but I found some solid refrences for this. Decided to leave out the pictures this time. Personally, as a woman, waxing and/or shaving is enough. Why do we need another step? But I guess if your business is looking beutiful, Why Not?

I've removed the advertising material that the above-noted editor added. I guess I'm just conflicted about whether this needs to go to AfD. It's certainly unbelievably vulgar, but the number of Google hits is giving me pause to think. Is this a peculiar case of WP:BLP1E, where Jennifer Love Hewitt is entirely responsible for this neologism and it will immediately die once her book tour is done? Dare I suggest that she is trying to promote her book by talking about decorating her vagina on national television? Of course there are now "salons" that will apply these pieces of glass for you and are willing to advertise that service, but you can find a commercial enterprise that's willing to do just about anything in the name of beauty. I just don't know. I surely have respect for the idea that Wikipedia is not censored, but at the same time I have to admit I don't WANT this to be a word. Your opinion would be greatly appreciated. Accounting4Taste:talk 17:42, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've tagged it for notability, as what's there (and the blurb you removed) don't appear to be WP:Reliable sources supporting notability. I guess we should give it some time to develop. MuffledThud (talk) 22:53, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
A co-worker tells me that this concept has been mentioned in a free paper that they hand out on the transportation system here, and the concept (although not the specific word) and its originator was known to a number of them, so I may have to swallow my distaste on this one. I guess part of my problem is that I don't think it's fair that Jennifer Love Hewitt gets to single-handedly add a stupid invented word to the English language when I delete things all the time posted by kids in primary school who have come up with silly names for body parts or functions; how am I ever going to tell them they can't add those neologisms to Wikipedia?. Perhaps I'll have to settle for cherishing the belief that it may well be the most significant thing she will ever accomplish. BTW, above, I should have said "talking on national television about decorating her vagina". The way I expressed myself was .... BRRRRrrrrrr. Don't even go there. Accounting4Taste:talk 23:19, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

UHY Hacker Young -- covered by reliable independent secondary sources?

[edit]

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on UHY Hacker Young requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Banaticus (talk) 17:00, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Stupid questions?

[edit]

Hello, I just added the Tieto Engineering Toolbox page into wiki. I read through the links behind the wiki tags and I fully understand the meaning and resoning behind those issues. Question 1: What is the biggest issue of the three tags? Question 2. How long time I have to correct those incidents before the page is deleted? As you can see, my concern is the page to not get deleted. So, please, give me advice how to a) keep the page in wiki and b) how to edit those pages in that manner which satisfies wiki standards. I think, the b) is tackled as I send those editions to you before publishing for validating? Yours, hytonen —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hytonen (talkcontribs) 20:32, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome. These aren't stupid questions at all. The article hasn't been proposed for deletion yet, so don't worry, there's time to improve it. If you like, I can move it to a WP:Subpage of your user page for now, where you can work to improve it. Let me know what you think. MuffledThud (talk) 21:53, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Muffled,

I've removed your speedy deletion request from Brent "Tha Bones" Jones, which you tagged under G2 reasoning, as I do not see how the article is a test page. The page has been retagged as a hoax (perhaps you meant to tag it as a hoax, but accidentally chose the option above it). Just wanted to give you a little heads-up. Thanks, ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 20:28, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not a problem: both categories fit in my opinion, but I tend to tag articles that appear to be meant as harmless jokes rather than deliberate deception as db-test rather than db-hoax - slightly less WP:BITEy. Even so, I won't dispute your change. MuffledThud (talk) 20:34, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Makes sense. Thanks, ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 20:36, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Marking pages as patrolled

[edit]

Hi there. I thought I'd stop by and inform you that it's usually customary to patrol newpages after you've tagged them for speedy deletion, the reason being so that someone doesn't look at the article only to find out that it's already tagged. There is a link at the bottom of the unpatrolled page when you navigate to the page from Special:NewPages itself, and if you plan on tagging it for CSD it's usually wise to click this link. There is also a userscript that does this automatically, which can be turned on in your preferences under "Gadgets". Cheers! The Thing // Talk // Contribs 13:42, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I'm doing NPP with Twinkle: must be yet another bug on that. :-) I was thinking switching to Huggle... :-)
Well Huggle is more of an anti-vandalism tool. I personally don't like it as a NPP tool. I do use a script that works wonders for NPP though. Try adding this to your monobook.js:
importScript('User:TheJosh/Scripts/NewPagePatrol.js');
npp_num_pages = 10;

It puts a constantly updating list of newpages into your sidebar. The Thing // Talk // Contribs 13:55, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, using that one too, thanks. Got everything but a hotplate hanging off my monobook.js. MuffledThud (talk) 14:15, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There were some troubles when posting or publishing this article. The webpage is blocked by P.R.China’s government and was blocked by Wikipedia due to some you-know-it political reasons. I wish, Wikipedia’s decision will definitely not be influenced by Chinese 50 Cent Party. You reflect, Please. Thank you. --ZHU Yeyi (talk) 16:10, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The draft of The Latin Phonetic Method of Shanghainese (LPMS) was published for the first time in 2001; its latest version was decided after a couple of revises and updates in 2003. It is the first Shanghainese phonetic notation which had been popularized on internet and the only Shanghainese phonetic notation designed based on Western linguistic spelling traditions. In 2004, the first Shanghainese Input Methods for Computers complying with LPMS was developed and formally published.

You all can publish stories about mythology of demons, and dreams of people who may of never existed...but let someone bring the knowledge that they have collected about an individual over the years, and you all delete it because you lack the knowledge about the individual. This is a snuff encyclopedia...I think I should use a more renowned encyclopedia that understands just cause a name isn't well known doesn't mean it doesn't exist! Notability Schools

[edit]

Hi MuffledThud. Just want to ask what are the currect thoughts on elementary schools articles with no sign of individual notability such as Country Oaks Elementary? I would have considered redirecting this. Polargeo (talk) 15:45, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there. There was an attempt at this: see WP:Notability (schools). My own opinion is that all established schools are likely to be notable, and any defunct ones that were around for a significant length of time. This view isn't universally shared though, so I'd like to see some consensus around a new proposal for notability guidelines. MuffledThud (talk) 15:49, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I thought it was something like this. I am more of the oppinion that lots of separate stubs on these schools are not a good thing but you are right in that some sort of policy would help. Polargeo (talk) 15:54, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, MuffledThud. You have new messages at Rgbroitman's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Appreciate all of our helpful input as I'm new at this. In terms of integrating into the National Wildlife Federation Page, there is and has always been a separate page for NWF's other pub Ranger Rick so would seem to make sense to have separate page for the flagship publication too. Also too, we are gearing up for our 50th anniversary. So plan to put more history in this article. Should interest people who have read the publication through the years.

Page deletion now to stay for ' Mark Boardman'

Hello MuffledThud

Good day, I am new here in Wikipedia, i have only one contribution and its Jamiatu Muslim Mindanao, i tried to add another article but it was under Wikipedia's Copyright violations.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Thanks and well done for creating a page on Tallulah - I was amazed and delighted to find one. I didn't think anyone else on earth would remember that one.

I've actually been looking for a copy of Tallulah for years, I only have a scratchy copy on old audiotape. Do you have a copy that you might be able to stick on a CD and send me? Or even perhaps a digital version?

You'd truly make my day, month and year if you could help with this. Obviously I'd cover any expenses.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Cheers, MoltonStPilgrim (talk) 09:05, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually I didn't create the article: User:Harlowsmonthly did. I only tweaked it a bit after it was created. Best of luck with this though! MuffledThud (talk) 09:13, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and thanks for the message. Which new content have you added to the article? I don't have a copy of the old one, as I'm not an admin. Thanks, MuffledThud (talk) 10:37, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Best to take this to the article's talk page - see you there. MuffledThud (talk) 08:59, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Delete of IndiaStudyChannel.com

[edit]

I could not understand the reason why this page was considered an advertising. I think that the page needed to be well explained. I admit that giving links to each section was probably a foolish step, but I request not to delete the information about the sections. However, I would also like to know, how to fulfill the criteria so as to mark notability in the page and not just mere deletion of the contents typed within a second without proper notification.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Gyandeep Kaushal (talkcontribs)

Gyandeep Kaushal (talk) 17:13, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article doesn't explain why the site is notable per WP:WEB. Can you find any coverage of the site from WP:Reliable sources? Thanks, MuffledThud (talk) 17:14, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Undelete the warnings.

[edit]

If you wish to create any changes in the page, you are welcome, but I wish you to remove the warning messages from the page for speedy deletion. After you make your changes, I shall possibly make some desirable changes, and then later notify you too. However, if possible from your account, I would like to know what type of things I should post in reliable resources so as to keep it contended with wikipedia rules.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Gyandeep Kaushal (talkcontribs)

Would you like me to move it to a subpage of your user page, to give you time to work on it? MuffledThud (talk) 17:23, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Userfying autobiographical material

[edit]

First off, let me say thanks for your kindness and thoroughness in taking autobiographical material from articlespace and moving it to user space. It's certainly the policy-dictated way to go, but many people don't bother; I have noticed in the past that you're quite diligent about it, and wanted you to know that it didn't go unnoticed. What I wanted to suggest is that you NOT leave a redirect in place when you do it. I don't know if there is a specific policy that covers this or not; my feeling is that it's not crucial to save the two elements of the page's history (its creation in articlespace and its move to userspace) and it simply makes a redirect that has to be deleted, which is extra administrative work. If you think I'm wrong, and that it's important to preserve the history of those two elements for the user, of course you should continue to leave the redirect in place; it will be an example of the kind of scrupulous attention to detail that I have noticed is your hallmark. (If you ever decide to undertake an RfA, please do let me know; I'd like to comment in it.) Accounting4Taste:talk 17:57, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The New Page Patroller's Barnstar
For constant and consistent attention to the very best principles of new page patrol -- separating the wheat from the chaff, knowing which is which with a high degree of precision, leaving informative messages for the individuals concerned and making sure that the wheat gets saved. AND for userfying autobiographical material even when the individual in question may never return for useful contribution. Thanks so much for all your hard work!! Accounting4Taste:talk 18:11, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
How very kind! Thank you!
But I'm not aware of how non-admins can move without leaving a redirect (which I always speedy db-r2): can you please advise? MuffledThud (talk) 18:17, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm. Yes, I noted that you always tag the redirect for deletion, for which thanks (I end up tidying the ones that are not so scrupulously tagged, hence the barnstar). I'm afraid I'm not sure of how this differs for non-admins; my examination of the "move this page" function shows there's a tick-box below the box where one explains the reason for the move. If ticked, it says "Leave a redirect behind". It may be that you ticked one long ago and, as I understand it, such a setting persists until removed; it may be that you just haven't noticed it. Please let me know if I am making an error based on the admin access; if I've suggested you do something that isn't possible, of course, my apologies. Hello MuffledThud, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Northwest Atlantic Marine Alliance, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not unambiguously promotional. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Eastmain (talkcontribs) 17:59, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Fariz. I don't think there's much that can be done for this, since the distro doesn't appear to be notable yet. Would you like me to copy it to a subpage of your user page, so you can work on it for a while? It may well be notable down the road. MuffledThud (talk) 10:06, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, for sure. But can you help me to elaborate it so it can be in this encyclopedia Please, its a Malaysian Distro, there is not many Malaysian involved

OK, there's now a copy of the article at User:Farizluqman/SimpleLinux.
Regarding keeping it in: what's notable about the distro? Is it used for some particular application for which other distros fail? Has it been adopted by a notable group or standards body? MuffledThud (talk) 10:12, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, firstly, Simplelinux is a remastered version of Slax. The quality of the distro is because of its Mini version, only 90MB in size but user can do the same that Slax did (eg, removable apps et cetera) The developer of this distribution is me, however, there is a numerous people willing to help me, then made a group called "Simplelinux Foundation".

The linux kernel in the package (both versions) is using Slax (and Slackware also), however, a lot of improvements (addition os system resources/libraries has been included, and unneeded resources is removed. We also compile and make the resources, so applications can easily being installed.

I hope it can be in this encyclopedia just like Slax etc... I hope it won't be deleted because its give meaning to us (AND MALAYSIANS), every Malaysians here are started talking about the distro which is produced by Malaysians. One day, it will comes in dual language, Malay and English. We even in project of making an open source Media Player from scratch (HelixCommunity player open source). It will only be in Malay and English.

I hope you can understand, however, you could lead this article to be notable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Farizluqman (talkcontribs) 10:22, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, i has put some reference, that may linking to other site inside the article Simplelinux. I hope it can be in this encyclopedia. I tried my best to make it notable. Might I Add That, The Jamiatu Muslim Mindanao Page Referred To In A Previous "talk" has yet to be rectified of its copy right infringement and with countless orphaned pages clogging up wikipedia - why has this gotten to this point?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_G14 has less then a sentence in it, WHILE my proposed page was more extensive and detailed.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KBFP_%28AM%29 is surely a regional/obscure article and once again less detail then my page.

So forgive me for not taking this so lightly

BKCW8 (talk) 11:21, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please have a read of WP:OTHERSTUFF: it's not hard to find examples of articles that need expansion or deletion on Wikipedia, but the length of those articles is not what makes their subjects notable or non-notable. You can of course expand or tag HMS G14 and KBFP (AM) for improvement. Re-writing Jamiatu Muslim Mindanao is an excellent idea, and would solve their copyright problem, but I have no expertise in that area myself. MuffledThud (talk) 11:31, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notability, You Can Ask Anyone Who Was On The HMS G14 If They Note It and They Will Say Yes. Likely So You Can Ask Any Member of The Dreaming Dog Appreciation Society and They Could Note It. There Is A Bug In The System and It's Called Relative Notability.

CSD criteria

[edit]

Just so you know, although I've deleted Tamil Poet R. Manikandan, which you tagged for deletion, it should have been tagged under A7 (no indication of notability per BLP) rather than G3 (vandalism). All the best, EyeSerenetalk 15:00, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This was a slightly unusual one, as the editor repeatedly re-created the page after level 4 warning to stop, so either CSD would have been appropriate in this case. Thanks for the friendly tip though. MuffledThud (talk) 15:02, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
OK, that explains it :) It's best for the tag to reflect the article content rather than the creator's motivation or behaviour, but no worries. I'll take a look at the account. EyeSerenetalk 15:08, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New Category Wanted for Bronx Newspapers

Deleting article

Hello Thud, I´m not sure if you sent me the message about deleting my article, the problem is that this is my first time editing and I thought I was doing it at the practise zone, the article is not finished yet. I´m sorry if I´m not doing it right and thanks for noticing me.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Karanchita (talkcontribs)

Hello, and welcome. Please don't take offense at the prod: it's a proposal for deletion in 7 days, giving you time to fix what's wrong with it so it won't get deleted. But 7 days might not be convenient for you: would you like me to move your article Patsi Patsi ‎to a subpage of your user page: User:Karanchita/Patsi Patsi? There you can work on it as long as you need to get it ready for moving back as an ordinary article. ‎ Thanks, MuffledThud (talk) 05:34, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello,

yeah, I saw that; the point is: if he really had contacted ORTS, they would restore the artilce(there is a nice little tempate one can use, as was the case here. Cheers and happy editing. Lectonar (talk) 14:38, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ian Halperin

[edit]

I don't know if you're on, but Ian Halperin is getting whacked with lots of IP and registered vandalism, all the same person, same M.O. Can you protect it? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 14:52, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well spotted, thanks. I've requested protection from anonymous edit, and I'll help you patrol it until protection kicks in. MuffledThud (talk) 14:55, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Quite the barrage. Thanks. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 15:02, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's coming so fast, I can't keep track. This is a safe version with no meaningful edits inbetween:

Yeah, probably a bot. Thanks for the diff. ~

I don't know. Maybe we should assume good faith. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 15:13, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Heh heh! MuffledThud (talk) 15:13, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry

[edit]

Whoops, Too many "anti-vandal cooks" trying to rv the Halperin page. I think I accidentally undid you a couple of times. I will be happy when an admin prots the page. Will just step to the sidelines... I think enough people are watching it now. :-) Wiki libs (talk) 15:14, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No worries! Please rv away, I don't mind if we trip over each other here and there. Hm, I notice there are a few refs needing formatting, once this settles... :-) MuffledThud (talk) 15:15, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Aha, you know, I just realised this is going to bump up my edit count by about 500. :-) MuffledThud (talk) 15:18, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry I got in you guys' way on reverting the vandalism there. Nice job on the speedy protection. Millahnna (mouse)talk 15:25, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, and you weren't in the way at all, thank you for helping. MuffledThud (talk) 15:26, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think I will just let Anna keep a close watch. She is spot-on-the-ball for that page. Lupins anti-vandal tools reveal so much vandalism its almost impossible to keep up to it all. I've seen pages sit in a vandalised status for over a year. Keep up the good fight everyone!!!! Wiki libs (talk) 15:27, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Anna should be the project manager where I work: my workplace closely resembles the edit history of Ian Halperin. MuffledThud (talk) 15:33, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well earned!

Tómas Davíð Page

[edit]

Hello! I am Tómas Davíð's manager from iceland, and i am trying here with our technicians to make this page for the big promotions that are coming in april when he goes on tour with jónsi.. why is the page being deleted? we don't know how we can fix this for you but we are ready to do whatever we have to for this page is very important as i said.. i only put a few of his information and collaboration with family and friends such as SIgur Rós and Björk.. You know who they are? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.189.43.141 (talk) 20:50, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you are his manager, then you really ought to log in as your account User:Listarmadur. As noted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tómas Davíð, the main issue is notability per WP:MUSICBIO. If you have any further information about Tómas Davíð that would support his notability for inclusion in Wikipedia, please let me know and I'll help add it to the article. Thanks, MuffledThud (talk) 20:55, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, allright!! So we should just add more legitamate references and detailed info about him to make the page good for wikipedia? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.189.43.141 (talk) 21:55, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not quite: you need to show why the subject of Tómas Davíð is notable per WP:MUSICBIO. That notability should then be supported by references from WP:Reliable sources. But lots of detailed info doesn't on its own necessarily make him WP:NOTABLE. Thanks, MuffledThud (talk) 09:36, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

deleted article

[edit]

Hello there, thanks for the notice on Myagi Australia. Sadly, I was too late, the article was deleted. I didn't even get a chance to put my case. The article did meet the notability criteria, sources, references for a an Australian company. Well, the administrators should also delete Kogan Technologies as well because it is similarly based article on an Australian company. it was just a company stub and these stubs are very common in wikipedia.Takamaxa (talk) 08:38, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I had a hunt online before nominating Tyagi Australia for deletion, and couldn't find any significant coverage of it from WP:Reliable sources that showed it was a notable company per WP:COMPANY. All I could find was WP:Primary sources like press releases. If I've missed something out, let me know and I'll help you re-write it. I notice that whil the Kogan Technologies article cites significant coverage from secondary sources, at the moment it needs re-writing for WP:NPOV, so I'll get onto that now.
