The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome!

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of World Series of Fighting 28: Moraes vs. Barajas, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.wsof.com/2016/02/wsof28-central-best-hits-around-web/.

It is possible that the bot was mistaken and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

No Problem, I understand. It is really weird that someone who has been in so many articles and on television so many time is not consider notable. - Claudias — Preceding unsigned comment added by Claudias1987 (talkcontribs) 14:07, 15 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal of Notability

[edit]

I have asked for a change in Notability. I did clean the page, but I think that it will be deleted again if accepted if notability isn't changed. Below is what I stated.

Hi I would like to ask for a plea to change the criteria of notability from top 10 criteria to top 20. My reason for this plea is that a top 10 will take away accomplishment of fighters who are notable but have never reached to 20 or those on the way of top 20 but because they are not seen as part of a tier 1 organization it is held against them as not notable. I feel that this will help reduce the arguments within the community about notability in MMA, but also create a more democratic process. My argument is that many topics rather use top 10 use top 15 or more often top 20. To use top 10 as a criteria deflates the need to recognized high achievers. An example is the NBA rankings which will list their top 20 players, and other sites going as far as listing top 50 to top 100. Again, I appreciate your help! If there's anything else I can do let me know. I have access to photos of Justin that we can use on the page as well. I work at WSOF, so I have all of the rights and permissions necessary. NaviGATR (talk) 15:02, 15 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. The biggest thing is to review the notability criteria. If notability criteria can be pushed to more professional it would help his cause. I'm new so I am not sure how the structure works, but it looks like from review that the criteria needs improvement as it only has two criteria. The problem is the the Tier system need a criteria of it's own of what constitute a top-tier organization. For example Invicta is Top Tier, which makes sense as it is the only well known WMMA organization but does not hold weight in viewership as it is either a fightpass or ppv. WSOF has been on network and cable, but has been put on as second tier. That doesn't make sense.

1. Have fought at least three (3) professional fights for a top-tier MMA organization, such as the UFC; or 2. Have fought for the highest title of a top-tier MMA organization

I will also include articles of him from ESPN or any other major news outlet I can find to push the argument to notability. I think the biggest thing is to push for a conversation with whoever made the criteria. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Claudias1987 (talkcontribs) 16:25, 15 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:WSOF Primary Logo Flat1.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:WSOF Primary Logo Flat1.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:23, 7 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages.
