Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved content from one or more pages into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content (here or elsewhere), Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and ylinking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. Cordless Larry (talk) 09:51, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for letting me know and I will ensure that I do this in future. Nothing-nothing-at-all (talk) 19:42, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked as a sockpuppet

[edit]
Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts as a sockpuppet of User:Agoraagoras per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Agoraagoras. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  PhilKnight (talk) 23:44, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

The person who flagged me as a sock puppet is retaliating against me for disagreeing with him. I do use several browsers, but this is not to deceive; I have a multi-monitor setup. I think my contributions on Wikipedia have been valuable and would like to ask for this ban to be lifted. If it would help and as I have not offended before, I would be happy to stick to one account at the request of the mods, from here on out.

Decline reason:

This is all but incoherent. What on earth does it matter that you use several browsers or have a multi-monitor setup? None of that has anything to do with abusing multiple accounts and it is utterly bizarre that you'd bring it up in an unblock request. Yamla (talk) 09:48, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Should this editor be unblocked, I would strongly recommend that the unblock is conditional on mentoring on the procedure for copying within Wikipedia (see Wikipedia:Copyright problems/2024 September 23) and the importance of reliable, secondary sources. Cordless Larry (talk) 07:17, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This is a reply to Yamla's comment: I'm sorry you find it incoherent or bizarre, but that is my technical setup. Admittedly, I don't have the best cognitive faculties and find myself making more accounts than needed, rather than scrambling for the other browser for the password manager and then having to go to the trouble of shifting everything all over again.

This is a reply to Cordless Larry's comment: Please don't pretend to be gracious, when you had me blocked for opposing your will. This is purely retaliatory and casts a bad light on you.

I also gave you reliable secondary sources on multiple occasions, but you engaged with me in bad-faith due to your political biases, so please do not condescendingly tell me to find reliable, secondary sources.

Just today, I saw this: "There is also confusion about how The Observer will be disentangled from The Guardian given the high levels of overlap between the publications in specialities such as sport, foreign and business coverage". Your insistence on decoupling The Observer from the Guardian is highly problematic: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2024/09/21/revolting-guardian-journalists-wreck-plan-observer/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nothing-nothing-at-all (talkcontribs) 11:20, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

PhilKnight and Yamla: my suggestion of mentoring above was made before Nothing-nothing-at-all created another account and engaged in further sockpuppetry. Cordless Larry (talk) 18:17, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
