big tags on Bangla text

[edit]

Please fix your browser and your default browser font. There is no need to add redundant big tags and mess up everyone else's rendering of Bangla text. The unicode text shows fine in a properly configured system. I'm reverting your changes. Thanks. --Ragib (talk) 06:04, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by adding commentary and your personal analysis into articles, as you did to Bhubaneswar, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Shovon (talk) 11:14, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Seriously, why are you so prejudiced against Bengalis from Bangladesh? I'd have assumed good faith, but you repeatedly delete any mention of Bangladeshi Bengalis from Bengali people related articles. Please do note that Bengalis from Bangladesh are now form the majority of Bengalis. Please edit without bias towards regional or religious affiliations. Thanks. --Ragib (talk) 06:38, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The infobox has only room for a few photos. So, to balance both parts of Bengal, it has 2 from West and 2 from East. Tagore and Nazrul, at the top, are from West Bengal (Did you NOT know that Nazrul is from West Bengal??). Mujib was included as the most well known political figure among Bengalis. And to include a Women, Roquia was included as a pioneer of women's studies in Bengal. The new photos you wanted to include are already present inside the article, so adding them here would be entirely redundant. --Ragib (talk) 06:52, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please feel free to be include entrepreneurs that you find to be notable enough. The only thing I ask is that, do not exclude some entries just because they are from a particular region. (incidentally, Sake Dean Mahomed was not from Bangladesh :) ).

So, the bottom line is: go ahead and balance the articles with coverage of both parts of Bengal, but don't include things from one part at the expense of things from the other.

I disagree with your statement about Subhash Bose. He was not the leader of a country nor the founder of one ... (in that regard, Jyoti Bose could have considered had he become the PM of India).

I will also invite you to take a look at the Bengali wikipedia. There are only a few users from West Bengal who are active there. --Ragib (talk) 07:09, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
