Information icon Please do not move a page to a title that is harder to follow, or move it unilaterally against naming conventions or consensus, as you did to Kaveri. This includes making page moves while a discussion remains under way. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Odd coordinates

[edit]

In this edit you added coordinates for the Ponnaiyar River that seem to point to a random piece of land a long way from the river. There were already coordinates in that revision of the article in another template, that looked like they point to the mouth of the river: 11°46′N 79°47′E / 11.767°N 79.783°E / 11.767; 79.783. Am I misunderstanding here or was this an error? And if so, could there be similar errors in other articles introduced by the same process? Beorhtwulf (talk) 15:52, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Tiruvannamalai District montage.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

spoiling a caste page is not commendable. And I see using spoof IDs. It is very easy to find IP address and all. Here, My kind perspective is tension between two Mudaliar communities are not welcomed. Stay connected as one, friend. Periyarist (talk) 21:10, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Tuluvavella.jpeg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Periyar's equality !(?? )

[edit]

Dear periyarist you said prosperous arcot mudaliars are hijacked by agamudayar. Really they are prosperous now? , are there arcot mudaliars forward caste existing? Or thety certificate them as backward tuluvavellalar for freebies. This is your"prosperous " vellala?. This is your teacher periyar's teaching?. Are Periyar said to vellalars to tell themselves as prosperous to the poors?. This is your periyar equality?. But Periyar and you tell brahmanas spoil the othercastes. Your caste was one step above to the brahmanas in caste inequality. But said in general we are equalists. It is not a work of honests. See, the tuluvavellalar page is general, not for exclusively for forward arcot mudaliars. Ok if you need, you create seperate page for it. So thuluvavellala page is general, not for agamudayar or vellalars Kavin Mudaliar (talk) 11:47, 2 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Thondaimandala vellala has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This article does not cite any sources and may not meet Wikipedia's general notability guideline.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Please be aware

[edit]
The Wikipedia community has permitted administrators to impose discretionary sanctions on any editor who is active on any page about social groups, explicitly including caste associations and political parties, related to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. Discretionary sanctions can be used against an editor who repeatedly or seriously fails to adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, any expected standards of behavior, or any normal editorial process. If you engage in inappropriate behavior in this area, you may be placed under sanctions, which can include blocks, a revert limitation, or a topic ban. The discussion leading to the imposition of these sanctions can be read here.

Please familiarise yourself with the information page at Wikipedia:General sanctions/South Asian social groups.

I see that you are creating a lot of poor content, including articles that have been deleted for failing the standards set out at WP:GNG. - Sitush (talk) 20:09, 3 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You created Thondaimandala Vellala. I have trawled some of the sources and so far every one I have looked at fails to verify what you claim they say. I see a few of them are also used on Tamil Wikipedia - have you checked them or did you just copy the content? We're going to need quotes from any of the sources that remain after I have finished checking, and we're going to need them quickly. Also full citations (page numbers etc) where not already present. - Sitush (talk) 20:28, 3 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I’ve produced the References for the caste Thondaimandala Tuluva velala also for Thondaimandala Adhi saiva Vellala from their caste website itself. I also produced the article / Reference which mentions about Thondaimandala Mudaliar as a whole and produced surplus references from News papers and Books with ISBN codes published from Cambridge also. You need to be much, much more careful, please. - Sitush (talk) 21:37, 3 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

More discretionary sanctions

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.  Bishonen | tålk 14:18, 8 July 2020 (UTC).[reply]

@Periyarist:

Tirukodimadachengunrur (talk) 10:43, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I just changed Kaikkilar into its write spelling Kaikkolar. Later, I thought not to give any shits. If you have guts really, do ask with people who added the lines. Periyarist (talk) 11:07, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Anti-Brahminism in Tamil Nadu moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Anti-Brahminism in Tamil Nadu, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. Sourcing

[edit]

Regarding stuff like this, please read WP:RS. There is absolutely no editorial oversight of commission submissions and you should know better by now given how much pov-pushing you have been doing and have had reverted. - Sitush (talk) 18:06, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Pinging Bishonen. This sort of rubbish sourcing has been going on for ages and we had a bit of a to-do here only last month regarding it. - Sitush (talk) 18:07, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice that you are now subject to a community sanction

[edit]

The following sanction has been imposed on you:

You have been indefinitely topic banned from making any edits to pages or discussions related to castes or social groups.

You have been sanctioned for persistently poor sourcing at caste pages

This sanction is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator as authorised by the community's decision at Wikipedia:General sanctions/South Asian social groups, and the procedure described by the general sanctions guidelines. This sanction has been recorded in the log of sanctions for that decision. Please read the policy WP:TBAN to see what "topic banned" means. If you do not comply with this sanction, you may be blocked for an extended period, by way of enforcement of this sanction—and you may also be made subject to further sanctions.

You may appeal this sanction at the administrators' noticeboard. You may also appeal directly to me (on my talk page), before or instead of appealing to the noticeboard. Even if you appeal this sanction, you remain bound by it until you are notified by an uninvolved administrator that the appeal has been successful. You are also free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you. Bishonen | tålk 20:31, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I note that you are indefinitely topic banned from making edits to pages about South Asian castes or social groups and yet you've done exactly that here, here, here, and here. You are therefore blocked for breach of your topic ban. DrKay (talk) 21:53, 4 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to move pages to bad titles contrary to naming conventions or consensus, as you did at Arani, Tiruvannamalai, you may be blocked from editing. You have been warned twice at this page about moving pages against consensus, and yet you've just done exactly that again. Per Wikipedia:Requested moves#Requesting controversial and potentially controversial moves, when there has been any past debate about the best title for the page, the page should only be moved after a requested move discussion.
