TFL notification

Hi, Ravenpuff. I'm just posting to let you know that Cardinal electors in the 2005 papal conclave – a list that you have been heavily involved with – has been chosen to appear on the Main Page as Today's featured list for June 23. The TFL blurb can be seen here. If you have any thoughts on the selection, please post them on my talk page or at TFL talk. Regards, Giants2008 (Talk) 00:27, 3 June 2023 (UTC)

L-L

Hi, thanks for your fixes at Standseilbahn Linth-Limmern. I noticed you also move it, but I'm not sure if that is appropriate here. It's not a line from Linth to Limmern, but one at the installation called "Linth-Limmern", located on Linth at Limmern. Would you kindly move it back, at least until we sorted it out? The article was just reviewed and should on DYK shortly. Enhancing999 (talk) 11:32, 22 May 2023 (UTC)

Also, your changes to the hook seems to ignore the comment made by User:Cielquiparle. Can you undo that too? Enhancing999 (talk) 11:42, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
@Enhancing999: Sorry for the slow reply; I've been very busy lately! My main justification for using a dash was because we already use one in another closely related article, Linth–Limmern Power Stations, and I think we can at least be consistent in how we present the same name. I hope the DYK hook issues were resolved in the meantime; I've noticed that it has already appeared on the Main Page. — RAVENPVFF · talk · 23:55, 28 May 2023 (UTC)

Vatican flag

Please stop changing what it is said about the incorrect Vatican. You having suspicions a source may be wrong, or you disagreeing awith the source, is not enough to warrant such actions (WP:OR). The source says it is incorrect, plain and simple (WP:V, WP:NOTTRUTH). Veverve (talk) 03:08, 6 June 2023 (UTC)

@Veverve: Thanks. I've tried to tidy up a bit of the wording while also adhering to what the source says. But the CNA article itself is a little more nuanced about it, and we can state the correlation between Commons' flag and the current widespread use of the incorrect version without strongly implying causation, especially with evidence of the incorrect version long before that. — RAVENPVFF · talk · 10:56, 6 June 2023 (UTC)

RfA in waiting

As briefly discussed at Errors, I reckon it would be worth you considering an RfA. Looking through your talk page archive, this previously came up in November 2019 where both Floquenbeam and Valereee encouraged you, and again in February 2021, where Ritchie333 tried to give you a nudge. So here's a nudge from me. If you are unsure whether you are 100% ready, WP:ORCP is where you can ask admins to check you out. The main things that !voters at RfA look for are:

  1. need for the tools
  2. content creation
  3. conduct
  4. skeletons in the closet

Regarding 1, you've made a whopping 2163 edits at Errors. That alone covers the need very clearly and was the reason why I put this question to you the other day (Ever thought of RfA so that you can implement your consistently good suggestions yourself, Ravenpuff?). Regarding 2, I see that you got the list of current cardinals to FL status. I'm sure there's more; you should list those things on your user page (at least the major achievements). Regarding 3, I haven't looked. I'm happy to look if you want me to. Regarding 4, it's a good idea to think about it and if there is anything, tidy it up or be upfront about it (e.g. discuss the issue and reflect what you've learned from it).

In both the previous discussions, you mentioned that "now's not quite the right time", indicating that life's too busy. I did my own RfA when I was on holiday over the new year break; it's certainly a good idea to be free of other commitments. Pending issue 3 coming out clean and issue 4 being addressed (if there is anything), I'd be most happy to be a nominator. I'm also happy to do some coaching if you wish (offline is fine) in preparation for a run. Schwede66 04:40, 10 June 2023 (UTC)

I'm happy to look at a nomination with Schwede66, if you're interested. Let us know your thoughts. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:20, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
