Soldier of Fortune magazine

[edit]

Why did you delete the excerpt from my book, "Plow the Dirt but Watch the Sky"? Who do you think you are; did you work at the magazine, as I did? Gospodingavno (talk) 18:16, 12 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm David O. Johnson. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Soldier of Fortune (magazine) have been undone because they did not appear constructive. Hello, the material re Brown is speculative and unsubstantiated. If the user would like to speculate on Robert K Brown, there is a wiki page for him. Thank you. RedlineBluepencil (talk) 14:40, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The material you reinserted relies almost exclusively on the writings of one academic whose work has been termed "biased," and itself is poorly sourced. His book received only one review in 2021 on Amazon, where the reviewer termed it "subpar." https://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B075MT6BR3/ref=cm_cr_unknown?ie=UTF8&filterByStar=two_star&reviewerType=all_reviews&sortBy=recent&pageNumber=1#reviews-filter-bar. Additionally, the material you reinserted delves heavily into the history of Rhodesia, which is not relevant. RedlineBluepencil (talk) 21:56, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, RedlineBluepencil. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 16:50, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Soldier of Fortune Magazine ownership

[edit]

Hello RedlineBluepencil. I'm not sure why you keep deleting my edits. The co-ownership of SoF Magazine is a fact supported by a number of signed documents. If you'd like to see them, I can share after I contact SKK. Until then, I'd ask that you stop undoing my edits. Thank you. Pier1911 (talk) 11:38, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
