Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Hi Rick, are you certain that the image you added is part of the Supreme Court? I've had trouble trying to determine which building it is. SarahSV (talk) 22:32, 11 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@SlimVirgin: I can positively confirm that. The Supreme Court is the wing to the right of the triumphal arch; you can see the Portuguese flag on one of the windows of the main courtroom in the picture (a better picture, though not as aesthetically pleasing, would be this one). Direct, reliable sources needed for Days of the Year pages

[edit]

You're probably not aware of this change, but Days of the Year pages now require direct reliable sources for additions. For details see the content guideline, the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide or the edit notice on any DOY page. Almost all new additions without references are now being reverted on-sight.

Please do not add new additions to these pages without direct sources as the burden to provide them is on the editor who adds or restores material to these pages.

A tag has been placed on Category:Recipients of the Order of the Tower and Sword requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. A tag has been placed on Bernard Middleton requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from antiquestradegazette.com/print-edition/2019/april/2386/the-back-page/obituary-bernard-chester-middleton-1924-2019. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

@Onel5969: Hello! Thanks for the heads-up, but I could not get to you before it was deleted! The page was not an integral copy from the stated source, though it was indeed used as one of the references. Perhaps while editing I unintentionally left a paragraph from that source as it was, without any alteration? In any case, I can positively say that other sources were used (and cited) as sources of information. Would it be possible to restore the page with the ommission of the offending content, so that it could be reworked? Cheers, RickMorais (talk) 21:44, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. You'll need to talk to the admin who deleted the page. You can find that out by clicking on the article link, and it will tell you who deleted the article. Be aware, they won't restore copyrighted material, but you can discuss it with them. Onel5969 TT me 21:49, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
