Your draft article, Draft:Financial life planning

[edit]

Hello, Rochellemoulton. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Financial life planning".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Financial life planning}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 22:31, 10 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This is the first I've heard of a conflict of interest. My intent was to get a draft up that others could comment upon. I do have a client who is a financial life planner--but have written this article without any intent to promote. Does that disqualify me from working further on this article?Rochellemoulton (talk) 21:29, 14 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've moved this from the draft space area. The problem about you posting there is that at this point in time the article doesn't exist and it's also not really guaranteed to actually be seen. I actually came across this somewhat randomly since I was looking over the article to see if there were any big issues. Offhand I do see that the article has some promotional issues including the usage of a block quote. Large quotes should be avoided if possible since quotes of that size can be WP:COPYVIO concerns - plus the quote is promotional in tone so I'd recommend removing it if this ever does get restored.
It doesn't disqualify you, but you will have to disclose this conflict of interest on your user page and make sure to follow the WP:COI, WP:RS, WP:NPOV guidelines to a T. You should also disclose whether or not you are a freelance writer or work for a marketing company. Part of this is because it's very, very easy for marketing professionals to write in a promotional tone without ever meaning to. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:07, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
