USB A - C cables

[edit]

Hello Sgryphon. Happy new year! You edited the USB C article but it is unclear to me what you mean, so I'd like to clarify it. You write

This means many USB-A male to USB-C cables will only work in the A to C direction

but what do you mean with "working in the C to A direction"? I don't think USB A allows power to flow in that direction, and I'm almost entirely sure the USB standard doesn't allow a female USB A receptacle to be an upstream facing port, so you can't plug your male USB A cable into a device with that role; such devices simply don't or shouldn't exist. So I don't see what could go in the C to A direction with a male USB-A connector. Could you please explain the situation you're envisioning? Digital Brains (talk) 09:49, 1 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
