A suggestion

[edit]

Rather than write a single brief article on each successive governor of Bengal, why not consider expanding the history section in the Bengal article with all of this information in one place, making it much easier to find and follow? WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 13:43, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Keep it up

[edit]

Hi,

Good work done, pl add categories to the pages you have created else no one will be able to search it easily thus will not get more content/maintenance. Thanks. Vjdchauhan (talk) 14:54, 10 February 2009 (UTC).[reply]

Speedy deletion of Shamsuddin Muzaffar Shah

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Shamsuddin Muzaffar Shah requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Daoud Shah Karrani. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Blocked indefinitely

[edit]
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for copyright problems. If you believe this block is unjustified you may contest this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below. PhilKnight (talk) 12:47, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I do not know if you are the same as the IP contributor who left a note at my usertalk page, but the evidence of editing pattern suggests you may be. In case you are, I wanted to note that I have left a response at User talk:123.49.48.90. Even if you are not, it may be of interest to you, as you have been introducing text from some of the same sources and that note may clarify our copyright policy and why these are a matter of concern. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 17:42, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Per Anthony.bradbury's specification of conditions, which were reasonable, and which I agree with, and which are now met. Mangojuicetalk 23:13, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Request handled by: Mangojuicetalk 23:13, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unblocking administrator: Please check for active autoblocks on this user after accepting the unblock request.

You are missing the point. Wikipedia cannot accept text which is copied directly from, or is substantially the same as, any source at all. If you are unblocked, are you prepared to agree not to copy text, not from "History of Bengal" and not from any other published text either? --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 17:17, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree

[edit]

I agree not to copy text, not from "History of Bengal" and not from any other published text either.

Can you also comment on your contributions to date? Many were deleted or reverted as copyright violations. However, some such as Muhammad Shiran Khilji remain. Were these texts also copied? If so, please let us knwo so that they may be removed. If not, then we require a reference for the source of the infromation. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 18:25, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

On receipt of a satisfactory answer to this question, in the light of your previous promise I will unblock you. --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 20:38, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

i had written some articles on the muslim rulers of Bengal on List of rulers of Bengal. And yes some of them were copied from "History of Bengal" :Jodunath Sarkar. But all those articles have been reverted to the uncopied form.Muhammad Shiran Khilji was also copied but the current form of the article is uncopied and original. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Siraj ud daula (talkcontribs)

Thank you for clearing that up. Note that you can (and should) sign your comments in talk pages with four tildes (~~~~). -- Whpq (talk) 21:00, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Muslims in West Bengal, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Eeekster (talk) 16:42, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock request

[edit]

Your username is unblocked. I do not know your IP address - only a checkuser can determine this - but there are no current autoblocks relating to you. Are you not able to edit in some way? --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 16:03, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps he is referring to User talk:123.49.48.90, which is currently under a two week block? Evidence would suggest that this contributor also uses this IP, but there has been no unblock request under that IP or acknowledgment of issue there. If you are that contributor and understand now that pasting contents from books is not compatible with our copyright policy, an early unblock of that IP may be appropriate. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 17:02, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Alivardi khan.jpg

[edit]
File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Alivardi khan.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 05:48, 13 March 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 05:48, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Siraj ud daula. You have new messages at Moonriddengirl's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Thanks for uploading File:Kit blank2.PNG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 06:49, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
