Hello, and welcome. That's a wonderful image. Did you take it yourself? Is it from their website? Best wishes, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 03:37, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Anna, thank you for your kind words! I did indeed take it myself - it's a composite image made up of 120 "slices", stacked together to create a single, in-focus whole. This allows me to obtain very sharp images at high magnification that would otherwise be impossible to capture with a single exposure (diffraction would reduce resolution). I have a number of similar images of various arthropods, and I am actively working to add them to relevant Wikipedia articles. The learning curve is a bit steep, but I'll get there eventually! Astonishing quality. The project thanks you. I will bring them to the attention of the folks who select our finest images to be featured. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 08:17, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure that my quality is up there with the best, but thanks for the encouragement! I think that adding high-resolution images where possible adds a great deal of value to the project as a whole, so I plan to post any relevant imagery to wikipedia and/or the commons. Such images are of huge value, especially if it's of something that will become extinct. See if you can make a stacked image of trade unionist. :) hahahah. Kidding. Cheers, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:24, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and consider creating a category at commons like Files by User:Anna Spongepuppy so you can keep track. This is useful because if somebody crops one of your images and you don't have the category, then the image will no longer appear in your gallery, if I remember correctly.
