Image tagging for Image:DCX_tech_center_Auburn_Hills.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:DCX_tech_center_Auburn_Hills.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Royal Oak Brewery

[edit]

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Royal Oak Brewery, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. B. Wolterding 15:10, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Berk1ey.jpg proposed for deletion

[edit]

I have posted this on your account Stannj as well.

I am listing the image Berk1ey.jpg for deletion because it obvious that either you or someone else edited this to include the phrase "ACLU Bible Burning" in the theater marquee. Please do not upload images like this; it is as bad as vandalizing the ACLU page to say they burn Bibles, and if you continue with such behavior this could result in a banning. Beggarsbanquet (talk) 04:16, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stannj is not my account. I did not add this into this photo. The photo I had submitted was called berkley.jpg. Stannj must have done this and redirected the Berkley.jpg links to Berk1ey.jpg. Stanthejeep (talk) 17:53, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I am sorry for the misconception that you had added this. Stannj said they had an earlier account on their userpage and since it credited you on the Berk1ey.jpg page with uploading the image (even if you didn't do it - Stannj must have wanted to skirt the blame), I assumed your account was the earlier one they were referring to. Very sorry for the error Beggarsbanquet 03:18, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Berkley.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Shell babelfish 20:16, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

NowCommons: Image:Indian Village Detroit.JPG

[edit]

Image:Indian Village Detroit.JPG is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:Image:Indian Village Historic District - Detroit Michigan.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all MediaWiki wiki's. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[Image:Indian Village Historic District - Detroit Michigan.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:37, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as Image:Manoogian Mansion Detroit.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because images on Wikipedia need to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License or another free license, which allow anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-3.0}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file, please understand that the vast majority of images found on the internet are not appropriate for Wikipedia. Most content on the internet is copyrighted and the creator of the image has exclusive rights to use it. Wikipedia respects the copyrights of others - do not upload images that violate others' copyrights. In certain limited cases, we may be able to use an image under a claim of fair use - if you are certain that fair use would apply here, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list. If no fair use rationale applies, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. Superm401 - Talk 04:58, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:1948_olympics_lax_demo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:1948_olympics_lax_demo.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yarnalgo talk to me 04:11, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:7473b.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

May I ask. Image:Old Mission Peninsula.jpg|View from Old Mission Peninsula of Marion Island in the West Arm of Grand Traverse Bay Is this photo taken from Chateau Chantal? — Preceding unsigned comment added by GRuskowski (talkcontribs) 21:10, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:WoodwardAve DetroitMI.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. A question

[edit]

Hi there! I'm a freelance writer with Hour Detroit magazine, and I'm working on a piece about Detroit's Wikipedians. Would you be willing to talk with a bit about your work and experience on Wikipedia for my story? You can reach me at patrickpdunn@gmail.com, or let me know what's the best way for me to get a hold of you. Thanks so much! PatrickPDunn (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 14:59, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Petoskey street.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [3], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. ww2censor (talk) 10:58, 15 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File:Rue Saint-Honoré.jpg missing description details

[edit]
Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as:

is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions, please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Theo's Little Bot (error?) 09:27, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
