Where?

[edit]

Where did you find that information about the Las Vegas 51's? Do you know where I can find some information like that about other Pacific Coast League teams? --Josh 21:51, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you could.

[edit]

If you could please help me out with the Iowa Cubs team page, it would be greatly appricated. I am looking for the same stuff you were able to do with the Las Vegas 51's page. --Josh 01:00, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

LV sports

[edit]

I moved your pro team table to the Las Vegas metropolitan area article where all of these sports are already listed. Do you know if the Las Vegas Venom American Basketball Association are still going to play? I left them under your table since they look like a real team, but they don't appear to have a venue to play at, so... Vegaswikian 21:48, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Champ Car Grand Prix of Las Vegas

[edit]

Funny you should ask. I just corrected a local paper on half the stuff they printed about it. Oddly enough, it's already been taken down. Here are the sources I used: http://www.lasvegassun.com/sunbin/stories/sun/2006/jul/24/566674468.html?champ%20car and http://www.lasvegassun.com/sunbin/stories/sun/2006/jul/24/566653221.html?champ%20car If you need anything else on the subject, I'm around. Vegasrebel29 03:35, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I was just popping on to print out a source for something I was doing, but if you'd like I can take care of it later tonight or tommorow. Vegasrebel29 03:41, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Sin City Irish RFC

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Sin City Irish RFC, by Erechtheus (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Sin City Irish RFC seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Sin City Irish RFC, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Sin City Irish RFC itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 23:54, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles that you have created yourself. If you do not believe the article should be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page (please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag) and make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you.Erechtheus 00:30, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Commercial use of Image:DelSol Front.jpg

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:DelSol Front.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:DelSol Front.jpg is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission for use on Wikipedia only" which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3).

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:DelSol Front.jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 07:43, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Videmus Omnia 02:50, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Las Vegas Wranglers.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Unrein

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Unrein, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Unrein. - Stephanie Daugherty (Triona) - Talk - Comment - 10:52, 16 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Scores by quarter

[edit]

Hello, I see you've deleted the "Scores by quarter" section in the "2008 Bowling Green Falcons football team". I was wondering why you did this? I now realize that I forgot to change the "Virginia" to "Bowling Green", but is this a reason to delete the whole section? Later, Rocketmaniac RT 13:28, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nope, no hard feelings. I was just trying to figure out what you were doing. I'll let you handle the improvements to the Bowling Green team since you're from that area. Later, Rocketmaniac RT 23:42, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kelly Cup bracket

[edit]

Hey! I looked at 2006-07_ECHL_season#Playoff_Bracket, and it looks like last year, it was 8 and 10 instead of 8 and 13, and 10 has its own special bracket. My suggestion is to use the {{16TeamBracket}} bracket for the 13-team bracket, and just give the top 3 teams byes in the first round ("Bye" for opponent and place them on through to the second round). —C.Fred (talk) 23:26, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Sunrise 4A Region article

[edit]

I would please ask why you keep on deleting my work on the Sunrise 4A Region high school conference in Nevada? I have given information on why it should be a part of wikipedia, including the fact that the conference is home to the oldest high school football rivalry in Nevada and has citations to reference this and that it is one of only three conferences for the largest schools of Nevada. If you delete this article then why do you not delete every single high school sports conference article on wikipedia? If this were the case there wouldn't be a separate category for High school sports conferences and leagues. Please state why this article is inappropriate for inclusion on wikipedia? Rik (talk) 23:29, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sunrise 4A Region was deleted under criterion 7 under Articles of the criteria for speedy deletion as it does not appear to be important or significant. The article also lacks any references or sources - "sunrise 4A" is not mentioned in the one news article that is linked from the page. If you feel that I deleted it in error it's possible to file a deletion review request. Stifle (talk) 07:35, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:BGSU seal.gif. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

License tagging for File:Earl Wilson Stadium.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Earl Wilson Stadium.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 19:08, 17 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I wanted to say thanks for the changes you did for the page. Someone had done those anonymously and I was a bit uneasy about them (and had to re-edit quite a bit of it). I do agree that the section should be just "Regular Season" (I plan on including other happenings there once they develop), and I made it a point to put the two folded teams back into the standings (and plan on giving an earful to anyone who removes them again). If I could get your opinion on using yellow shading for teams currently in playoff position instead of a blank row (see the 2008-09 AHL season page for a glimpse of how that works) or keep it as is, I'd appreciate it! Mtndrums (talk) 15:26, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I totally understand having that many irons in the fire, coincidence works out that I'm on a computer at some point during the night/morning and can get things updated. If you think there is anything that should be added at any point, please feel free to go ahead and do so. Mtndrums (talk) 20:00, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Hey

[edit]

Thanks, I've been trying to bring the BGSU article up by looking at some of the top articles of other universities. The BGSU article still needs a lot of work though. And the colleges need a ton, I haven’t had a chance to do much with them besides move the appropriate info from the main BGSU article into the colleges that info fit with. --Bhockey10 (talk) 07:48, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Timelines

[edit]

In response to your message on my talk page regarding ECHL timelines, I've not done timelines in a very long time, and at the time of its creation, it was largely a group effort. The colors in Timeline of the National Hockey League were extracted from the historical team colors (except for the light gray representing the past traceable non-NHL history of different teams), which were, IIRC, input by many contributors. I apologize if I cannot help you with this regard. kelvSYC (talk) 02:11, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2008-09 Kelly Cup Bracket

[edit]

Hey Stolilv87. Quick question. I've been contributing to the current standings for the 2008-09 Kelly Cup Playoffs. When I go to update the bracket, none of the info is there. How is it edited? I easily can edit the Calder Cup Playoffs bracket because all the layout is there...So where's the info for this bracket? Just curious, it's driving me nuts, making me think something is wrong with my internet. Thumbs up for keeping the ECHL stuff up to date. Keep up the good work.Mbsusmc (talk) 03:45, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rik, thanks for the heads up on the template. I was on earlier editing the bracket and figured it out.

Also, if you do get the task force going, I'd be glad to be a part of it. Let me know what I can do to help out in maybe getting the petitioning, too.Mbsusmc (talk) 06:02, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dates

[edit]

Hi, I noticed that you linked a date or two when you created 2009 Louisville Bats season. This practice is now deprecated. Please see WP:LINKING and WP:MOSNUM. I'm happy to respond to any inquiries you may have about the matter. Ohconfucius (talk) 08:32, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please read the guidelines at Template:Current sport. A current event template is supposed to be used to warn our readers that an article is being massively edited and/or rapidly changing. If the article is stable, there is no reason to warn our readers. Templates like this one are not supposed to be used to merely inform our readers that something is ongoing, since that is already obvious from the article itself. --Conti| 09:55, 23 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'd be game for the task force, though my interest in the league is very LA Kings-centric. Shootmaster 44 (talk) 22:49, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah it doesnt matter to me, if we do expand to include all minor leagues I'm sure there'd be lots more editors willing to join, so I'm leaning that way. there's also alot of articles outside the ECHL that need help too. --Bhockey10 (talk) 19:39, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'd be fine with either working on it with just us or expanding to other minor leagues. I've also done a lot of updates for the AHL page, so I'm familiar with both, and could do work for some of the other leagues as well. Mtndrums (talk) 02:40, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I am also fine with either going with the small task force or expanding to other leagues. I do some minor editing for the AHL as well, so I'm sure I'd be capable of expanding to the other minor leagues as well.Mbsusmc (talk) 10:47, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hey there. Sorry I'm responding incredibly late on this. I have been away for awhile. I appreciate the invite though. I'm willing to help with whatever I can. Fair use rationale for File:2010 ECHL All-Star.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:2010 ECHL All-Star.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Killiondude (talk) 08:32, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 17:46, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled

[edit]

Hello, this is just to let you know that I have granted you the "autopatrolled" permission. This won't affect your editing, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:

  • This permission does not give you any special status or authority
  • Submission of inappropriate material may lead to its removal
  • You may wish to display the {{Autopatrolled}} top icon and/or the {{User wikipedia/autopatrolled}} userbox on your user page
  • If, for any reason, you decide you do not want the permission, let me know and I can remove it
If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, happy editing! Acalamari 21:45, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I looked it over, and am quite impressed, and went ahead and re-assessed it. I currently don't have a computer, so don't have the ability to give the article a good review. However, I would suggest bringing it over to WT:HOCKEY and letting someone there give it a look. Kaiser matias (talk) 00:11, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:UNLV helmet.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:UNLV helmet.gif. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mtking (edits) 03:10, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article 2009 Las Vegas 51s season has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Per precedent set at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Triple-A season pages. Don't think we need another AfD, do we?
