Dario Pot Nationality

Hey SuperJew wondering where you found the information on country for Dario Pot? Couldn't find it when I went search about him (To be honest couldn't find all that much on him in the first place). NZFC(talk) 06:27, 9 January 2018 (UTC)

@NZ Footballs Conscience: I found it here. --SuperJew (talk) 13:38, 9 January 2018 (UTC)

Revert

Hi SuperJew, They divorced. In the United States, that indicates they are not a family. What are your thoughts? Hmlarson (talk) 19:23, 14 January 2018 (UTC)

@Hmlarson: I was not aware of that :O Umm I think we should keep it (prob with a note), as they were married while they were playing soccer, no? --SuperJew (talk) 22:05, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
I'd vote no. Wambach's re-married with kids. Her wife is not a soccer player. Huffman retired in 2014.ref Hmlarson (talk) 22:44, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
@Hmlarson: My point is that there was a point that they were both playing soccer and married --SuperJew (talk) 18:02, 15 January 2018 (UTC)
I get your point - but that isn't the name of the article. Hmlarson (talk) 18:48, 15 January 2018 (UTC)
I guess you could add a "divorced or previous families" section to be accurate. Hmlarson (talk) 18:49, 15 January 2018 (UTC)
@Hmlarson: For example: "List of foreign League X players" include players who "became" foreign even after leaving the league (for examples: Moses Ashikodi and Dexter Blackstock were capped for A&B after playing in the EPL, Daniel Gordon was capped for Jamaica after playing in the Bundesliga, Iain Ramsay was capped for the Philippines after playing in the A-League). I was going by that logic, to say players who were married should be included in the talked about list. However, your suggestion of adding a "divorced or previous families" section, (or perhaps a note) might be a good way to explain it sufficiently. --SuperJew (talk) 22:25, 15 January 2018 (UTC)
Sure, I get it. As is, it’s outdated and inaccurate, though. They aren’t a family - haven’t been for quite some time. Hmlarson (talk) 02:23, 16 January 2018 (UTC)
@Hmlarson: So for having a "divorced or previous families" section, do you think that should be a sub-section in each country as needed or a general section (on the same header level as the countries)? --SuperJew (talk) 07:13, 16 January 2018 (UTC)

@Hmlarson: I'm moving the conversation to Talk:List of association football families#Divorced/previous families for the opportunity of more opinions :) --07:17, 16 January 2018 (UTC)

hat tricks

i was in the middle of editting that !! You could have waited 5 minutes ?! Matilda Maniac (talk) 20:40, 21 January 2018 (UTC)

Sorry, I didn't notice (don't usually check my watchlist while I'm editing a page). Testy, testy, testy... nothing wrong with the link you provided, I didn't see it when I added mine anyways... As it is, if available I do prefer a newspaper with a broader subject range than SBS World Game or FourFourTwo as it confers more notability. --SuperJew (talk) 21:22, 21 January 2018 (UTC)
Wikipedia does not require the best reference amongst two or more alternative acceptable ones; if you can provide a link to a Wiki talk thread with a policy outcome or consensus that newspaper based references are preferred over online citations, i'd be interested to see it. Thanks for the apology. Matilda Maniac (talk) 02:24, 22 January 2018 (UTC)
Didn't say it was a Wikipedia requirement... just said that's the link I prefer adding :) --SuperJew (talk) 16:33, 22 January 2018 (UTC)

Ben Kennedy

Hello SuperJew. I noticed that you moved Ben Kennedy to Ben Kennedy (rugby league footballer). Whilst I have no great issue with it going to disambiguation, it should have gone to Ben Kennedy (rugby league) per MOS. Could I please ask you to move it there and marry up the navboxes away from Ben Kennedy to. Many thanks in advance.Fleets (talk) 21:46, 4 February 2018 (UTC)

@Fleets: Hey, I'd be happy to do it (wasn't aware of the MOS as I don't edit rugby). Problem is that the page Ben Kennedy (rugby league) already exists as a redirect and I can't override it. You'll have to ask an admin to do it. --SuperJew (talk) 22:00, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
I just found that out myself, and much appreciated anyways. Raised it as a query and will follow it up with an admin as and when I get some time. Shalom.Fleets (talk) 22:04, 4 February 2018 (UTC)

About deletion for Oliver Sail

Actually, "TODAY" (25 March 2018), Sail made his debut as a Wellington Phoenix goalkeeper. So I don't know why we should delete the page. FastCube (talk) 08:04, 25 March 2018 (UTC)

Squad navboxes

Mate,

Your arguments about why youth players shouldn't be in the navbox are inconsistent and weak. Since when were "squad numbers assigned at the start of the season"? What about new signings? Or - relevantly here - players who come in from the youth squad? In fact, if you look at the squad numbers its clear that the youth players take the same number every time they play with the A-League squad. Have you seen anything to contradict this? Was it just a coincidence that Peter Kekeris took number 25 this round (source) as he did in early January (source)? Or that Lachlan Wales has worn number 24 every time he has played? Literally every youth player playing A-League wears the same number every week. To deny these players have regular squad numbers is obtuse. Macosal (talk) 09:34, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

@Macosal: Youth players do not have numbers, youth players may play for the senior team, but only if the player is signed to the senior team do they receive an official shirt number. That means although Kekeris was assigned #25 when he made an appearance for the senior team, he isn't officially assigned to the number, any other youth player can 'unofficially' use the number.
For example, Sydney's Sam McIllhatton was assigned #3 in the FFA Cup match he played, but was #8 in an NYL match, and according to a change by FastCube (don't know where the info is from but SoccerBase backs this) he is now #15.
And yes, senior squad numbers are assigned at the start of season, for example: Sydney's 2016/17 announcement. And new senior signings are assigned numbers, which are often given in the official announcement, for example Vido joining City or Zuvela's promotion. --SuperJew (talk) 14:38, 10 April 2018 (UTC)
It is not uncommon for players to wear different numbers in different competitions. The League numbers are the relevant ones here and do not change once assigned. That is actually quite obvious when you look at the volume of youth players, all of whose numbers do not change. Not only do they not change, but other players don’t take those numbers when they come into the team. Why has no Mariner other than Kekeris used 25 this season? A fair few have come into the squad since then. Macosal (talk) 20:30, 10 April 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, it's quite uncommon, I'd even say rare, and the only ones I can think of are when the competition has a restriction on squad numbers. --SuperJew (talk) 21:10, 10 April 2018 (UTC)
I can recall it happening with A-League seniors in FFA Cup / ACL. It’s a bit besides the point how often that happens however - the point being, the fact a player wore a different number for one game (before the league season) should not detract from the fact that these players are clearly assigned specific squad numbers for the league. Macosal (talk) 22:24, 10 April 2018 (UTC)
What volume of youth players? There's a handful. --SuperJew (talk) 17:56, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
There’s probably 3-4 per club on average. But if there aren’t that many why is it a problem to add them? Macosal (talk) 03:43, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
Not a question of amount, but of policy. --SuperJew (talk) 10:18, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
It's a navbox of the current squad - the players contracted and eligible. Youth players have to be promoted. --SuperJew (talk) 10:19, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
As their continued presence in the first teams indicates, they literally do not have to be... They are already eligible and many play frequently for the first team without being promoted. Macosal (talk) 14:30, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
If you notice in the weekly squad updates it says promoted or demoted. Youth players are payed less so why ever would clubs keep fringe players on senior contracts unless they have to for playing regulations?
Anyway, I suggest you take this discussion to the talk page of the Task Force or the WT:FOOTY talk page. --SuperJew (talk) 22:14, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

Best-and-fairest votes boxes

Hey SuperJew. If what you say here is true, then show me where any such discussion has taken place – if there hasn't been any discussion, and there's no policy in place suggesting that only players with votes should have votes boxes, then I don't agree that it should be removed. 4TheWynne(talk)(contribs) 06:29, 29 May 2018 (UTC)

You're avoiding what I've said. You claimed that there's already been a discussion on this matter – if so, show me where it is, and if it does exist, then at least I'll know that I'm discussing against a consensus. I certainly haven't been able to find such a discussion yet. 4TheWynne(talk)(contribs) 06:49, 29 May 2018 (UTC)

Nomination for deletion of A-League templates

despite a recent closing of a discussion about deleting templates, where the outcome appears to be contrary to what you were arguing for, you seem to be subverting the system by reintroducing templates immediately after the changes are made, such as HERE. Why ? @Hhkohh: @Plastikspork: : is there some additional template merging discussed elsewhere that is not part of this particular TfD ? Matilda Maniac (talk) 06:41, 3 June 2018 (UTC)

The template document says: This subtemplate is used by {{A-LeagueAttendance}}, {{A-League Table of Results}}, {{ALeagueMatchSummaryLine}}, {{A-LeagueDiscipline}} and is not intended to be used directly. So this template should be substed when using in A-League transfers for 2018–19 season like {{nfa}}. No need for an additional merging discussion for me. Hhkohh (talk) 10:58, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
I am not reintroducing anything. I am using what exists. In both discussions (here and here) the merge option was discussed which by their comments, Hhkohh (creator of the TfDs) supported.
I will subst the templates after the season (as I said I would do with the previous templates), but currently, pre-substing it is very useful typing aid, requiring changing of 2-3 characters instead of like 60. --SuperJew (talk) 11:30, 3 June 2018 (UTC)

Please don't (re-)add redlinks to topics that have been deleted as non-notable. WP:REDLINK are only for notable topics. – Finnusertop (talkcontribs) 10:22, 15 June 2018 (UTC)

@Finnusertop: mate, they were linked before the articles were created and deleted. That's the consensus in soccer club season pages. --SuperJew (talk) 14:31, 15 June 2018 (UTC)
I asked about this from the closing admin of the most recent deleting close of a non-notable football bio. You can read the thread here: User talk:78.26#Unlinking after deletion. The advice was to ask you to point out this consensus. Where can I see this in action? I looked at recent closes and the opposite seems to be the norm. – Finnusertop (talkcontribs) 11:14, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
@Finnusertop: As 78.26 said "However, if these are junior leagues, it would seem quite possible that a player could become notable in the future". All these unlinked players are young players who are in a fully-pro league squad, so it is quite conceivable they will be notable in the near future. The concern is that they will become notable and no-one will go back to the old season pages to link them to their articles, which is a loss. Also, regarding links which display only the family names (as in football boxes and squad templates) having the redlink gives the advantage of displaying the full name. --SuperJew (talk) 17:06, 17 June 2018 (UTC)

Dispute in the Denmark national football team page

Hej SuperJew I have added a link to a page I made with the Present and ongoing undefeated streak of the Danish NT to hopefully end a silly dispute. I may add that the now 16 games undefeate streak is also by far the longes streak a Danish NT has ever been undefeate since their very first offical NT game at the 1908 Olympic in London. The second longest undefeated streak was 11 games back in 1995, starting with the match against Saudi Arabia on the 6 January 1995 in the FIFA Confederations Cup that Denmark won by beating Argentina 2-0 in the Final, and ending with the very last game the same year, with a 3-1 win against Armenia in a UEFA Euro 1996 qualifier on 15 November 1995. So an 11 game undefeated streak that lasted exactly the whole year. Otherwise we need to go all the way back to 1912-16 to find an 11 game unbeaten streak for the Danish NT, but obviously this was also far from as long a streak as the 16 games right now. I'll change the title of the page from 'Present and ongoing undefeated streak' to 'Longest undefeated streak' when Denmark finally get beaten and this should hopefully put an end to your dispute. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CeresAGF (talkcontribs) 22:52, 18 June 2018 (UTC)

@CeresAGF: It seems your article was deleted moments after being created, so seems I am not the only editor who thinks your edits are mistaken. Please take up this issue at WT:FOOTY to get more opinions if you still want to continue. --SuperJew (talk) 06:10, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
@SuperJew: I do not know who deleted it, but the one who did, has deleted a page about an all-time historical unbeaten run by the Danish NT, with a History box and relevant links, which is quite shocking. But through the years I have noticed that you English speaking Wikipedians often tend to just toss new wiki-pages straight in the bin if there is no links to English language sources. I have had to fight so many times in the past to keep new wiki-pages with present and former Danish and Polish Internationals and present and former Danish Superliga players where I could find no English language sources, which is also why I quit posting new wikipedia years ago, because it was really not worth all the time and trouble, having to fight to keep wiki pages of well know soccer players, who you english speaking wikipedians did not know about and so just threw in the bin. I simply can not find any English language sources I can link to about this historical unbeaten run, even the Danish sources I can link to are few, but it's a fact never the less if you take time to investigate, but as written it's hardly worth my time and trouble when it's most likely just going to be tossed in the bin by some American or English speaking wikipedian within a few hours.
@CeresAGF: As far as I can tell, It wasn't deleted as a matter of sourcing, but as a matter of duplicate information which already exists in an article. It would be better though if you ask the editor who deleted the page: @Ansh666:. --SuperJew (talk) 21:28, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
Please read WP:NOTSTATS. Streaks, no matter how "historical", are not generally notable, and the page's only sources were to statistics sites - no news articles, etc. which would provide even the smallest bit of notability. This information is best covered in Denmark national football team (or the spin-off List of Denmark national football team results), and the article as it was would be entirely useless as even a redirect due to its unworkable title. ansh666 21:37, 19 June 2018 (UTC)

Hi SuperJew. Have a question to why you deleted a lot of results on the danish page ? I can't seem to find a template or rulebook on the "Recent results and forthcoming fixtures" and I think the results now is inadequate and miss the overview and results in colours.Tuelund (talk) 21:53, 26 June 2018 (UTC)

@Tuelund: As you can see in the "Recent call-ups" section, "Recent" is regarded as the last 12 months. This is also the practice on all national football team pages, as we don't want them to be a list of results. If you want further consensus, you are welcome to bring this discussion to WT:FOOTY. --SuperJew (talk) 22:34, 26 June 2018 (UTC)

Check your facts

Dam you are really bad at your facts. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bk9DcfgDaFH/?hl=en&taken-by=adelaideunited clearly shows Ilso is wearing the number 10 in his training kit.

Oh whats this? https://www.facebook.com/events/284909195584237/ a friendly booked against the Para Hills Knights? Are you even from SA.

Please stop embarrassing yourself. — Preceding unsigned comment added by HeyGuysItsMe (talkcontribs) 23:36, 8 July 2018 (UTC)

@HeyGuysItsMe: If you'd link to your sources when making changes, I wouldn't have to not find them when searching. I'm not from SA, did I ever say I am?
Regarding the sources, Instagram is first of all hardly a verifiable source, and secondly numbers worn during training in pre-season are not indicators necessarily of assigned numbers during the season.
The Facebook event also seems to me borderline verifiable, but I think it's okay so long as the official club hasn't announced yet (I checked on the official club site and the club's Twitter btw. Was this announced on Adelaide United's Facebook page?).
So add your sources when making changes and it'll make all our lives easier. --SuperJew (talk) 07:55, 9 July 2018 (UTC)

Decline reason:

In my opinion the technical evidence supports Bbb's conclusion--and that the behavioral evidence does has already been confirmed by SQL on User talk:Eranrabl. Drmies (talk) 14:37, 10 July 2018 (UTC)

@Bbb23: I saw your comments on Eranrabl's talk page and would like to address them. It seems quite clear to me that we are both active, contributing editors, who edit mostly in the football field. As can be seen by our contribution and user pages, Eranrabl mostly edits in Israeli football, while I mostly edit Australian soccer and Collingwood-related pages. I have dabbled a little in the past also in Israeli football, but it is quite minor (67 pages we both made edits on, compared to 520 pages on my watchlist). Also you can see from our contributions pages that we have different styles - I (almost) always leave a comment on my edit notes, while Eranrabl doesn't. Furthermore, 2 editors who are interested in the same project (only 67 pages though, that's nothing in these large projects) is hardly a reason for sockpuppetry suspicion. It is quite clear that we are not the same editor, please cancel this block. --SuperJew (talk) 21:27, 9 July 2018 (UTC)
Another issue I saw raised was technical data. Does that means IP address? If so, it makes sense that we sometimes use the same IP address as according to our user pages, we are both students at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. --SuperJew (talk) 21:29, 9 July 2018 (UTC)
@Bbb23: Please reply. Every evidence shows we are not the same person, we edit mostly different fields with a slight overlap in Israeli football which Eranrabl edits from what I understand from his contributions and I did some minor edits in a few years ago. What can I do to prove that I'm not a sockpuppet? --SuperJew (talk) 10:56, 10 July 2018 (UTC)
@Bbb23: @Drmies: I feel all people are saying is "we have evidence, but not saying what evidence".
What technical evidence? What does it even mean? I already explained that if it is IP address that makes sense as we are both students at the same university.
What behavioral evidence? The only thing SQL said was "you do have interactions". Of course two editors on Wikipedia who edit in the same field will have interactions. I also have interactions with J man708 and with Matilda Maniac as we are all invested editors in the A-League.. that doesn't make us the same person.
How has this come up so late when we have both been editing for over 9 years (based on myself and what Eranrabl wrote on his talk page)? If it is so obvious and clear-cut it surely would've come up earlier.
I'm willing to provide evidence that we are not the same person. What evidence can I give? --SuperJew (talk) 20:15, 10 July 2018 (UTC)
Please stop pinging me. I have this page on my watchlist, and if I want to comment, I will.--Bbb23 (talk) 20:29, 10 July 2018 (UTC)
I'm sorry, I didn't know if you were seeing my posts as you didn't reply. --SuperJew (talk) 21:06, 10 July 2018 (UTC)

SuperJew, Eranrabl's userpage does not say that they are a student of the Hebrew university; it says they are "affiliated" with it. Putting that aside, can you identify which IP(s) you've used that belong to the university? Also, do you know Eranrabl?--Bbb23 (talk) 00:12, 11 July 2018 (UTC)

Yes, it says they're affiliated, but going by the category that attaches the page to I assumed it means student (or perhaps works there in research). I'm trying to make sense of why we would have similar technical data (I'm assuming this means IP, please correct me if I'm wrong), as we are not the same person. I will shortly send you by email the IP(s) of the university. --SuperJew (talk) 06:16, 11 July 2018 (UTC)
You didn't answer whether you know Eranrabl.--Bbb23 (talk) 12:46, 11 July 2018 (UTC)
Sorry, I forgot that part at the end. No, I do not know anyone named Eran rabl in real-life. Sent you another email with university IP. --SuperJew (talk) 13:51, 11 July 2018 (UTC)
I've received both e-mail. When you edited Wikipedia using the University's IP(s), whose computer did you use?--Bbb23 (talk) 14:10, 11 July 2018 (UTC)
In the last two years my own laptop. The year before that, one of the PC's in the Hebrew University's computer room. --SuperJew (talk) 14:22, 11 July 2018 (UTC)
Although I appreciate your cooperation in answering my questions, I haven't changed my mind about the socking. That said, I'll go a little further in explaining why. The two IPs you sent me are in the same range, and it's one I checked. Your statement that you used your own laptop gibes with reality because the user agents match the user agents you used in many other IP ranges that are owned by standard ISPs. You've asked about whether I just see the IPs you and Eranrabl use. Yes, but that's not all I see. The user agents tell me what device you're using and what browser. Eranrabl has not used the Hebrew university range you used. BTW, the data I can see is only for the last 90 days, so your usage of the university computers two+ years ago, for example, is hidden from me. Eranrabl hasn't edited as much as you have in the last 90 days, but that account uses the exact same device and browser you use. They also coincide on one of the IP ranges you used. That kind of technical evidence in conjunction with the behavioral evidence is what caused me to find that the two accounts are operated by one person.--Bbb23 (talk) 14:39, 11 July 2018 (UTC)
Hmm I use an ASUS laptop, which are pretty common in Israel and a Firefox browser (honestly there's like 2 main browsers to choose from so that's pretty high chances two user will use the same one). Also, if we are both in Jerusalem, how many IP ranges are there? Is coinciding on one range out of however many we use not something which is usual? I am still not sure what is the behavioral evidence you are referencing. Seems to me we edit mostly different fields (football in different countries, with a couple of overlaps which are not directly or things which violate WP:BADSOCK). --SuperJew (talk) 18:34, 11 July 2018 (UTC)
What way is there to solve this? We are not the same person. Would it help if we each sent you to your e-mail a scan of our IDs? --SuperJew (talk) 08:51, 12 July 2018 (UTC)
Sorry to interrupt, I'm just following this discussion because of technical curiosity (so I'll leave any behavioral evidence out of this). Bbb23, first of all, I must say that I am confident in the ability of our CheckUsers, but I've always wondered what kind of technical info is available to you. If it's just the UA and IP, then there is very little to work with (unless it's an exact match). FWIW, UA doesn't really mention what kind of device is used (at least on standard laptop and desktop computers), only some general info on browser and OS. And there are lots of people running, for example, Firefox on Windows 10 x64 (like I am right now). Browser version is also kind of irrelevant since, by default, every modern browser self-updates as soon as an update is released.
Now, I haven't checked what JavaScript code Wikipedia executes (and I'm too lazy to do it =)), but it would be possible to get the LAN IP, desktop resolution and browser viewport size (though all of that might upset some privacy-oriented folks). If you also get that kind of info, and it's a match, then it'd really mean technically indistinguishable. User Agent and IP range - not as much. Just my 2c. =) byteflush Talk 21:00, 12 July 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for the input Byteflush. Sounds from this that based on the technical data given by Bbb23 it isn't possible to say that two people are using the same computer etc. Furthermore, as I have stated a few times and not received a reply to, there is no behavioral evidence to support that I and Eranrabl are the same user (we edit different fields, and none of our behavior is consistent with WP:BADSOCK. Since currently the only way for me to communicate is via my talk page I will ping some more admins and hope they will be kind enough to give their thoughts and sort out this mistake and let me get back to contributing to Wikipedia. Pinging: @DoRD, Vanjagenije, GiantSnowman, Enigmaman, Number 57, Oshwah, Plastikspork, TigerShark, and Someguy1221: I hope you can give some different input about how we can solve this as Bbb23 has stopped responding and is now also deleting other's responses. Thanks in advance for your time. --SuperJew (talk) 22:38, 12 July 2018 (UTC)

I am not surprised you would have the same matches for browser and OS as the network will port the same software to each computer. The university has over 20,000 students, are you going to block every student as a sockpuppet? This feels highly irregular and SuperJew is a good editor in my opinion, this feels rather an unfair block. Govvy (talk) 13:29, 8 August 2018 (UTC)
@Govvy: Agree. I think we should help SuperJew appeal to Arbcom and open a case for SJ Hhkohh (talk) 15:15, 8 August 2018 (UTC)

UTRS

The UTRS reply I sent you should have directed you to appeal to the Arbitration Committee and provided you with their email address. This was done because this is a CheckUser block, and another CheckUser has reviewed it and declined to unblock for technical reasons. Non-CheckUsers may not unblock without the consent of a CheckUser, and when a second CheckUser has reviewed the evidence and declined to unblock (as Drmies did above), the correct place to send an appeal is the Arbitration Committee, who are the last resort for appeal of CheckUser blocks. You may contact them either by using Special:EmailUser/Arbitration Committee or by emailing them directly at arbcom-l@lists.wikimedia.org. TonyBallioni (talk) 05:16, 15 July 2018 (UTC)

  • Thank you Tony. SuperJew, ArbCom is indeed your next step. Drmies (talk) 16:19, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
  • I do not know how long it takes for ArbCom to answer appeals. Generally ArbCom takes a while to answer appeals. Additionally, I'd like to ask that you don't email me again. I just did a pretty standard kicking of the appeal to ArbCom for CheckUser blocks. There isn't really much else to say. TonyBallioni (talk) 11:49, 19 July 2018 (UTC)
Just to note, if this does go to ArbCom, I'd be willing to comment in support of you and Eran. This really doesn't add up to me and in particular I think the claim of behavioural evidence is highly flawed. Cheers, Number 57 14:52, 19 July 2018 (UTC)
Sorry to chip in but i just came across that aswell and have to agree with Number57. I hope it gets resolved. Kante4 (talk) 10:47, 20 July 2018 (UTC)

Unblocked

Hi, SuperJew. First, let me apologize for the time it took for ArbCom to get to this point. This was a complex case and unfortunately the more complex a situation is, the harder it can be to come to a consensus. After lengthy discussion, our consensus was that we believe there was not strong behavioral or technical evidence to show that your account was involved with the Eranrabl situation. As a result, I have unblocked you and restored your userpage to its previous state. In case you haven't been checking your talkpage regularly, I am also going to send this via email. If you have any questions please feel free to ping me, email me, or email the arbcom list in general. ♠PMC(talk) 04:22, 20 October 2018 (UTC)

A-League football transfers issue

Hi SuperJew, I did see the you made changes for the transfer list of removing the notes for for the free agency players. I think we can still do this, because the 2018-19 pages show the same thing but no-one made any changes.

Please answer as soon as possible.

Thanks: FastCube (talk) 06:00, 16 November 2018 (UTC)FastCube

@FastCube: If you are talking about a club season page, then it's different than the A-League transfers page.
The A-League transfers page shows every in and out of A-League clubs. So if a player is released from A-League club X and later signs with A-League club Y, it could be shown as "A-League club X --> unattached", and "unattached --> A-League club Y", but it's simpler to unify the rows making it "A-League club X --> A-League club Y" with a note mentioning there was a free agency period in the middle.
The club season page shows every in and out of the specific club. Therefore if the player is signed from free agency or is released to free agency, it is irrelevant to the club season page, what the player's previous or next club is.
Hope that makes it clearer. --06:07, 16 November 2018 (UTC)

ArbCom 2018 election voter message

Hello, SuperJew. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

Melbourne City FC

Hi, I see that you have edited Melbourne City FC (W-League) in the past 12 months. I've started a discussion on the talk page about criteria for notable former players. I would really appreciate your input. Thanks! Mightytotems (talk) 11:03, 20 November 2018 (UTC)

potential Oman friendly still unannounced and therefore speculative

Pretty poor communication by FFA if this fixture ends up being on (SBS had something mentioning it yesterday in a piece about Mooy), considering its purported to be 30th December which is only 1 week away. Matilda Maniac (talk) 05:35, 23 December 2018 (UTC)

Quite poor by the FFA, though not surprised by them anymore. If they don't announce it and it happens, do we still not write it on Wikipedia? ;) --SuperJew (talk) 20:34, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
only if we lose. ;) Matilda Maniac (talk) 04:57, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
Wait a minute, We're not supposed to lose. Let me see the script. --SuperJew (talk) 10:34, 24 December 2018 (UTC)

On the serious point though, Matilda Maniac, there seems to be enough verifiable and reliable sources (like this one) that the match is happening, even if FFA haven't posted an official announcement. --SuperJew (talk) 10:50, 24 December 2018 (UTC)

And another interesting point of note is that the rest of the friendlies currently going on in Asia, also seem to have minimal information about them (no squads on live-score sites or soccerway, only final score posted on AFC Asian Cup twitter). --SuperJew (talk) 18:18, 25 December 2018 (UTC)
