Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia. I can get you one of those welcome templates if you like, or someone else may be along shortly. Thanks for your edits to the Winnenden school shooting article. Please keep at it - such a high-interest, sketchy-background article needs the attention.

Since you're still learning the ropes, I figured I'd mention that my shortening of the suspect's name was unorthodox. The English Wikipedia is fanatically not censored: Either we acquiesce to the whims of every single group of any size on the planet, or we don't. We don't, and have pissed off well over a quarter of a million people with the Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons controversy article without wavering. I chose to shorten the name because there were no demands one way or the other, making it a matter of courtesy rather than censorship. Once the article returns to using the full name, I won't have that justification and will drop the matter.

Thanks for reading. Hope you'll like it here, have at it - we (are supposed to) expect newcomers to learn by editing. For no good reason, here is a levitating dog. --Kizor 17:48, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Watchlist Woes

[edit]

{{helpme}}

So, here I am, looking at my wonderful watchlist, being all cocky and feeling powerful, generally thinking about how great and awesome I feel, and then it's all knocked down when I notice these green numbers in brackets next to the page titles, and I realise that I have no earthly idea what they are. Is there anyone out there who can help me regain my sense of power and worth?

They're bytes being added or removed. You can have your sense of power back. ;-) -- Mentifisto 20:01, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
