Don't get worked up

I noticed you got a little heated with Smith Jones, well don't bother. He's a very insidious troll and vandal that hasn't done anything cut and dried enough to get blocked yet. Just thought I'd let you know. NeoFreak 07:19, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

Info taken on board. Thanks for pointing that out (it's probably more obvious to people with more experience here than me >_>). UnaLaguna 07:23, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

Please see the game's talk page for details. Nothing major, just a few items related to clarity. It shouldn't take more than an hour to fix. Cheers, Lankybuggerspeaksee20:08, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

archive

i put the archive "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Smith_Jones/Archive02" here. what are you talking boaut?

Hmm. The link you put on your talk page to the article linked to User Talk:Smith Jones/Archive02, not User:Smith Jones/Archive02. It made sense putting the archive in User Talk, as it's an archive of the User Talk page rather than the User page itself. Plus, User Talk:Smith Jones/Archive02 is consistent with User Talk:Smith Jones/Archive01. One of them, probably the one you linked me to just above (User:Smith Jones/Archive02), should probably be deleted. UnaLaguna 05:17, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

Feedback on SimCity 4

Thank you very much for your feedback on SimCity 4, I did need to be given a direction on what to do with the article! Camaron1 | Chris 19:05, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

sorry, i found that the page had been vandalised and tried to fix one bit, changing 99 to 19 as i thought that was correct and it was definately better than 99, but i was unsure if 19 was correct. i wasn't aware of the sandbox and will use it in the fture, i reported the vandalism so that someone more informed could look into it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.7.144.135 (talk) 11:38, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Major League Baseball

The Special Barnstar
I couldn't quite figure out which would be best to give you, but for not only helping me without complaint in getting Major League Baseball (video game) promoted to GA status, but also teaching me an entirely new way to look at and review the quality of articles, to which I have then been able to spread throughout Wikipedia as a GA reviewer, there is recognition due to UnaLaguna, his patience, helpfulness and overall excellent contributions to the project. Cheers, CP 15:55, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

Why thank you, I am honoured and shall do my utmost to live up to the award. I started a leadless, POV, written like a 15-year old article on another video game that was going to be my next project, but after spending an hour getting nowhere in getting screenshots (the game is freaking impossible), I'll be working on other tasks for a bit. I'm so embarrassed by the current quality of the article, that I won't mention which one it is, but when I do get it up to code and put it up for peer review, I'll let you know. Cheers, CP 16:21, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

Well, since you saw my table (the one I stole from User:AnonEMouse), you've probably guessed that the above mentioned game is Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (video game). I've at least brought it up to something I wouldn't be embarrassed asking for some help on, so I think I shall ask you, since you're pretty damn good at that. If you're busy or would prefer that I formal request that it be peer reviewed, just let me know. Oh yeah, and I looked at the review you gave for MLB and tried to make sure that this article met all the points made there, so that you wouldn't have to repeat yourself. I am a bit concerned that I've done some irrelevant overlinking (especially when describing the game elements), but the text is devoid of Wikilinking past the development section without them. I want to get it to B Class first (it was rightly rated Start in its initial form, though I think I've improved on it since then) and then prep it for a GA nom. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, CP 03:34, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the review! I'll look over it tonight, clean things up, then nominate it for GA once one of my other two noms is passed or failed. Would you say that the article is a B as it stands though? Cheers, CP 22:06, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

Movie Battles Review

Since i think you dont check Wikipedia:WikiProject_Video_games/Peer_review/Movie_Battles anymore xD (which is my fault since i forgot about it), i thought i could tell you this way.

I have now added alot of sources (some of them are on the official MB site, but better than nothing tbh), i also changed a few other things and added a screenshot..

So could you plz look at the Movie Battles article again and see if its better in ur opinion. Remember my goal is to get the article to at least a B rating so, lets hope i succeed. ;) Thanks Yzmo talk 16:59, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Seriously, your work on the VG Assessment page is great. I originally created that page but I've only contributed a few assessment myself. What you're doing really helps to get new users involved in the community: some of the articles being requested for review are not great at all, and it would be easy to be cynical to the contributors. Your constructive criticism is exactly the reason I created the page in the first place. JACOPLANE • 2007-11-2 22:51

Over the Hedge (Nintendo DS) quickie assessment

Hi there, you may or may not be aware of the discussions surrounding this article and the proposed merge to the main over the hedge game article. The agreement was that the article should be a good start class by February, though after reading about the darned thing I thought I'd just get it done myself. Now I'd just like another pair of eyes to see if I've left or botched anything, so I can get on with something else. You're quite at liberty to tell me to nick off, so don't feel like you have to, likewise there's no hurry at all you can do it in months or weeks time.

Couple of notes: There's no information out there to create a development section, and the current headers within the article are the only sections I'd really want to complete. I'm finishing up the reception section now and would then like to address any corrections or omissions. Regardless of whether or not you're able to have a look, thanks for your ongoing work on the project. Someone another 15:18, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

Mega Man ZX Advent assessment question.

Out of curiosity... Mega Man ZX Advent is a sequel, and thus, there are a lot of aspects (such as the technological premise and setting) that are identical to its predecessor. I bring this up because you suggested a "Technology" section. I know of the importance of making articles stand-alone, but it seems a little redundant to elaborate on these details again when they're so unchanged from the first game. Would it be suitable enough to just reference the first game's article? -Crimsonseiko 23:59, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

I believe you assessed the article I requested. I have tried to improve it so tell me if I completed some of the points you listed.

Do the pictures all have fair use rationals now? Is the gameplay section a little bit better? Is reception better at all? I completely re-did it. I can't expand the plot much more because there's not much story in the game. I did, however, add another picture to the Plot section. I still need to add more citations. Also, if I would like to pursue a Good-article status, would I have to nominate the game or something? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wi Account ki (talkcontribs) 01:48, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Overlord Assessment?

I'm not sure how the whole assessment/peer review system works but I'm working toward improving the Overlord (2007 game) article which is still at start but has been expanded and improved since then, even if its not B class I'd still like to know what needs to be improved.

StarCraft series assessment

Thanks for the assessment! However, you left conflicting ratings: you put B in the template and on the assessment page, but Start in your comments on the talk page. I'm guessing that its supposed to be B as it was used twice, but can you clarify the rating in your comment?

I'll see what I can do on the article, but surely a reception section for a series is a cultural impact section as its not dealing with the specific reviews of each game? I sort of rushed that section, I only used information already on WP rather than finding new stuff, but I'm confident of more cultural impact stuff that is non-Korean. Also, isn't a gameplay section something more suited to the individual game articles rather than the series overview one? Especially considering there's a (postponed) game of a different genre in the series. I'm also unclear exactly how to use screenshots for this article, again it strikes me as more of a game specific thing. However, I'm basing this mainly off of Halo series, as I can't see that I can get the level of detail as in Final Fantasy. -- Sabre 20:12, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

I've edited Multi-Racing Championship a few days and I think I'm done with the article. Do you think it's still Stub-class or could it be rated Start-class? --Mika1h (talk) 18:22, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

SH4 VGA

  1. I've gotten the plot summary reformatted and reffed. Take a look to tell me if it looks good.
  2. I assumed that Image:Sh4cvfight.jpg would demonstrate typical gameplay. It appears to have all the major elements (Henry, Eileen, the inventory, the health bar, a ghost enemy.)
  3. And one of these days I will try to fix up some of the paragraphs. --Lenin and McCarthy | (Complain here) 03:27, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Tried beefing up the paragraphs. How much more do you think it needs? --Lenin and McCarthy | (Complain here) 05:00, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

I tried to write a bit of a sequel section, but it ended up being too small for a whole section, so I threw it into "history". --Lenin and McCarthy | (Complain here) 06:09, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

Cutscene Screenshots

I noticed you have screenshots of Jedi Outcast cutsences. How did you take those? Printscreen? Quietmartialartist (talk) 14:53, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

As I recall, I used Xfire's screenshot feature (Scoll Lock S) as it allowed me to take loads of screenshots whilst only sitting through the cutscene once. I find printscreen very hit-and-miss so no longer use it. Una LagunaTalk 15:32, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

Album's Artwork or Albums Artwork

It's a double album and the artwork for each disc (and the their separate packaging) was produced by the artist mentioned. So... album's, albums or albums'? (Happiness is the road - Marillion) :D Stephenjh (talk) 11:14, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

This is getting very picky :P but the first sentence of the lead refers to it as one album (released in two parts). So I'd say album's and not albums' as it's still one album, even if it's released in two parts. For sure, it definitely needs an apostrophe as it's the artwork belonging to the album. "Differences from book" section for Eragon (film)

I am just wondering why a section like that is okay for the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. Would more links and a "comparison to source material" approach be acceptable? It seems natural to me that an article of a movie based on a book would at least mention how if it is different from the book.JesusFreak89 (talk) 22:55, 21 October 2008 (UTC)JesusFreak89

First thing first, check out WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Wikipedia is a work in progress and therefore incomplete. One cannot say "X is done in this article, so it must be okay to do it in another article". I had this a lot back when I assessed video game articles: people would have game-guide-esque lists of weapons and levels and other unencyclopedic stuff, and assert that they could do that because other articles had these things (even though those articles were complete rubbish!) If you're talking about this article and ones like it, then those aren't good examples.
As a general rule, a subject should only be covered on Wikipedia if it has been discussed in reliable sources; otherwise the subject doesn't pass Wikipedia's notability criteria. The differences between the LOTR books and films have been discussed in multiple reliable sources; therefore it is notable enough to be included on Wikipedia. The differences between the Eragon book and film section have not been discussed in-depth in reliable sources.
Also note the differences between this section discussing differences between the LOTR books and films, and what many users have tried to add to Eragon (film) (simply list the differences). Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate list of information and Wikipedia is not a guide. Analysis of the differences, if discussed in reliable source/s would be fine, but simply listing the differences between book and film adds very little useful content to the article.
I hope this clarifies things for you. Una LagunaTalk 07:17, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Hello, if you remember remember me, I greatly improved the article for Overlord (2007 video game), so naturally I would do the same for it's sequel Overlord II. While I've improved this new article in the same manner, I know there's a lot to be done. Since you were extremely helpful in assessing and guiding certain improvements, I would trust your judgment once again. Question

Thanks for the Club Penguin peer review. I have a question, though: Would the room-list and stage-play-list be game-guide-like? --Hadger 04:17, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

I would say yes, they are game-guide-esque, as they mean nothing to someone who's never played the game. The two bits of prose describing them can probably be trimmed down a bit and stay, as a basic description of the environment/stage is useful to the player. Una LagunaTalk 10:09, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Also, about the lead section not needing sources thing, I will put some of the lead section text into the main body of the article (not by copying-and-pasting), but maybe if the sources from the lead section of the article were removed, that would lead to argument about the lead section being unsourced. Are you sure the sources in the lead section should be deleted? --Hadger 01:42, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

What I meant was that the lead section doesn't need citations if the information given in it appears elsewhere in the article and is cited. So don't delete the sources - cut and paste them to where you're sticking the info in the main article body. Una LagunaTalk 08:54, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
Okay. I kept the sources even though I copied-and-pasted the sources into the main body of the article. I don't want to lead to arguments of the lead section of the article being unsourced (like I said before). --Hadger 18:06, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

I am sorry for all the questions, but would the What They Play site be a reliable source? --Hadger 18:16, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

No problem, questions are always awesome. A website is reliable if there is some form of editorial oversight of its content. A site with content only posted by official staff/volunteers is reliable (e.g. IGN, GameSpot); a site where anybody can post pretty much anything is not a reliable source (e.g. IMDB). So What They Play would count as a reliable source. Una LagunaTalk 20:04, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
Thanks! --Hadger 22:42, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Another question: Would the ESRB official site count as a primary source for Club Penguin's rating, or would it be a good source? --Hadger 20:57, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

With something as basic as the game's ESRB rating, a link to the official ESRB website should be fine. Una LagunaTalk 08:38, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Hi.

I figured you will talk to me, the article is indeed worth a B, but lacks one element, it has only two categories, in fact technically it would be a stub because it lacks artist category; so artist, genre, country and pretty much any other categories you can think of or find in FA and GA, would not only get it to B but help you to get to GA, also a sample would get you in the best track. If you will, i shall rate it a B so you don`t have to request an reassessemnt again. Don`t hesitate to ask if anything else comes up. Zidane tribal (talk) 21:20, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

I see that the category doesn`t exist, i`ll creat it, if it is OK with you?. Zidane tribal (talk) 21:23, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
 Done
Many thanks for your feedback, and adding/creating the categories. If I come across any more relevant categories I'll be sure to add them, and I'll get to work on a sample. If I have any questions I'll be sure to ask. Again, thanks! Una LagunaTalk 22:09, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

I don't think there's much (if any) useful content from the original pages which should be merged into Twelve-step Suite. The main article needs a tidy-up, for sure, but considering that all the information on the individual song articles is unsourced (mostly original research), I don't think there's anything which immediately needs merging. I will get to work expanding the main article, though. Una LagunaTalk 09:03, 4 March 2010 (UTC)

Im reverting them because I work for Robert Hart, and have many legal documents proving that what is stated on here is true...i.e the chart position song such as angel have actually achieved. This includes Gold discs in the office direct from the record companies and Billboard. There is an issue with the Billboard's website that us here at the K Hart Inc music company who handles Robert Hart's affairs are currently trying to rectify. Opeth acts

I don't think you were quite clear with the acts like removing arch enemy. Explain. M4pnt (talk) 02:54, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

I explained my reasons for removing the acts here. I am implementing the often-neglected guidelines at Template:Infobox Musical artist#Associated_acts, which states that, among other things, acts with just one member in common should not be listed. If you think there is a strong reason, based on these guidelines, for the addition of bands such as Arch Enemy, then please give them at here.
Thanks, Una LagunaTalk 13:37, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

Can you comment further on Progressive Rock talk page?

Hi UnaLaguna, I've responded to your last comment, basically that I think we should dump all of Christgau's reviews, definitely not cherry-pick them. Am interested to hear your thoughts. Cheers! Academic38 (talk) 05:00, 31 March 2011 (UTC)

Ring of Red

One thing that amazes me about that page is there is still no map of Japan despite the availably of such. I can put on in there, but I don't know how.--184.77.10.72 (talk) 21:44, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
