Nazi Racial policy

[edit]

I changed it to racialism for several reasons. I felt that it wasn't appropriate to use the word "racist" in that section of the article. In the article it stated that the Nazis installed racist policies. I feel that that is not accurate. The vast majority of citizens were not racist when these laws were installed in the early 1930s. To say that were racist laws in this point in time is misleading and a false representation of the German people as a whole. Racialism does believe that certain races are superior to others but for a reason. Many Germans at that time blamed the Jews for all of their problems. This definition would apply to the German people. You can look up the definition yourself if you'd like.

The German people felt that Jews were corrupting the government and installed racialist policies while many people did not have a specific hatred towards the Jews at this time.

I agree, indeed many people in Nazi Germany were racist towards the Jews but that came later. I feel that it is in accurate to say racist policies in that part of the article. Also racism is a personal opinion of one, it is not factual. In the article it is stated as a fact, even if it is obvious its best if it’s stated in a non preferential way. I don’t mind saying that Nazi Germany was racist in another part of an article if it is stated in a way that everyone can agree.

Thanks,

Milton

[edit]

Googling uncovered a Milton Park in South Australia, so I've added that. It's important always to give an edit summary; it's not only Wikipedia policy, but it helps to avoid misunderstandings. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 19:33, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Aligning

[edit]

If you want to align an image to the right or left of some text, you can put an optional attribute in the link to it. For example [[Image:Wikipedesketch1.png|right]] shows as this one on the right. If you want to align text, you can specify the aligning parameter the dirty way: using HTML. Just put the text into a paragraph with the align option. For an example,

<p align="center">Centered text</p> gives

Centered text

If you want to align to the right, just use right as the parameter instead of center.

Right-aligned text

However, don't abuse this <p> thing too much. Only do it on your user page or on the Sandbox, where you can mess around. Fetofs 12:38, 28 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Centralized header

If you wanted to centralize any header of your user page that is also possible with <h2 align="center">Centralized header</h2> The header will be just like a normal one, appearing in the TOC. You don't need to answer me this time; the thanks have already been received.

Contents

[edit]

The contents box just appears when there are 4 or more items with header level 1 on a page, in his case, 4 comments (e.g. ==Random Wikipedia message==). So naturally when you deleted one, there were only 3 items, so it no longer appeared. This comment should fix that. Hope this answer helps. --W.marsh 23:02, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Chris! As W.marsh said, the table of contents is done automatically, when there are 4 or more headings. However, if you want a table of contents with less than 4 headings, you can put __TOC__ at the top of this talk page, and then the table of contents will always appear.--Commander Keane 23:15, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Darwin's photie

[edit]

Hi, thanks for picking up the problem with the cropped photo of Darwin in the evolution article showing a different date to the full size version of the same pic at Charles Darwin. I've commented here and amended the evo article accordingly. Your assistance is much appreciated, dave souza, talk 21:04, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The credit goes to somebody at reddit.com for posting an image showing the disparity, I just figured I'd put the whole point behind Wikipedia to use and correct it, instead of sitting around an bemoaning the inaccuracy. Now to go back to using my account once a year... ;) -VetteDude (talk) 03:53, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
