Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page.
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Originally I set my username as Wonderful Digital but I should have used my real name for transparency. I'm new to Wikipedia so this was an honest mistake on my behalf believing that the user I created was also the article. While I am a paid employee of the company whose article I'm creating, I am doing so to initiate a factual record of the company and it's history. In doing this I am ensuring that the information contained in the article is factual and cited with third-party references to support the content written. I also know that third parties can contribute to this article and is not an owned asset of the company. I have also tried to remain honest by stating on my user account "This user, in accordance with the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use, discloses that they have been paid by Wonderful Media Group Pty Ltd for their contributions to Wikipedia."

Wikipedia is not a business directory, so a company is not entitled to have a Wikipedia article just because it exists. All topics must be notable by Wikipedia's definition to merit inclusion. In the specific case of a company, it must meet the notability criteria for companies and organizations. For this to happen, the company must have already received significant coverage in multiple reliable and independent sources. We have no interest in what a company wishes to say about itself, as this is an inherent conflict of interest. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 04:42, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Drm310 In this case can I change my username to won499 to not be affiliated with company then be reinstated so I can actively contribute to other articles?

Yes, but a) we'd like to know what those other articles would be and b) you couldn't edit anything about any competitor or company Wonderful works with. Daniel Case (talk) 06:28, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User talk:Daniel Case Of course not, there's no malicious intent in wanting to unblock the account (or what I was looking to do before with the Wonderful article). As I said I'm new to Wikipedia from an editing perspective I'm just interested in engaging with it more. I would be keeping the account for my personal interests since I'm not allowed to do the Wonderful article. I would only contribute to an article where it was needed and factual obviously, not just for the sake of it.

Again, can you give some examples of articles you might edit or topics you might focus on? 331dot (talk) 08:44, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your proposed username seems to be a shortened version of your current name. I would prefer it if your new username was completely different. PhilKnight (talk) 10:09, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:PhilKnight is this new username ok?

That's too similar to an existing username, which prevents me from carrying out the rename. You'll need to propose something else. 331dot (talk) 11:28, 20 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
