Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited N69 road (Ireland), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Glin (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The article Camp United has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable, local, amateur football team. Fails WP:GNG and WP:FOOTYN

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. At least one of your recent edits, such as the edit you made to Template:2015–16 Premier League table, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at the welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make some test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. You may want to read the BBC Sport article that says Watford clinched promotion to the Premier League after they beat Brighton and other results went their way. [1] QED237 (talk) 16:33, 25 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
OK QED237, I see the link and accept that I was in the wrong. I made my assumptions via Flashscores, which apparently did not update the Championship table correctly. No hard feelings.YoungIreland (talk) 16:36, 25 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I can understand you dont like the warning, but even after being reverted you insisted on removing them when several other users has insterted Watford. You should have realized you might have missed something. But I might have been to fast to warn for disruptive editing (not vandalism), sorry about that. QED237 (talk) 20:24, 25 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I suppose at the time, I though it was them who was doing the disruptive editing by repeatedly adding Watford when the Flashscores table, as well as the Championship had not yet been updated (the former I was surprised with, as they are usually quite reliable.), and thus I reverted what I (mistakenly) thought was disruptive editing to both the page and the table. Regarding the vandalism, I was referring to this link:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_page_protection#2015.E2.80.9316_Premier_League_.28edit.C2.A0.7C_talk.C2.A0.7C_history.C2.A0.7C_protect.C2.A0.7C_delete.C2.A0.7C_links.C2.A0.7C_watch.C2.A0.7C_logs.C2.A0.7C_views.29
I noticed that in your note that you did make the distinction, which was fair enough, I suppose when I saw this link I was shocked and reacted accordingly. I hope I didn't come across too strongly, this is only a misunderstanding from which I hope we can both move on. YoungIreland (talk) 21:15, 25 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That protection request was not because of you (and it would not even have worked since you are autoconfirmed), but there has been many other unsourced edits adding Everton, Palace and so on for next season. QED237 (talk) 21:20, 25 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
OK QED237, thanks for that. I suppose that given that the request was made at the same time when I was making my edits, it was an easy mistake to make, sorry. YoungIreland (talk) 21:25, 25 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Have a nice day! QED237 (talk) 23:03, 25 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Listowel Celtic F.C. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Repost of Classic F.C.

[edit]

Information icon A tag has been placed on Classic F.C. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's discussion directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of recreating the page. Thank you. Hi, I'm Snowycats. YoungIreland, thanks for creating 2016-17 Irish Premier League season!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Hey there, great job writing a new article! I did mark your article as it needs some improvement, but I'm sure that it will be one of the many amazing articles on Wikipedia soon enough! If you have any questions, feel free to let me know! Good luck!

Invite to the African Destubathon

[edit]

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Kerry F.C.

[edit]

Hi Young Ireland,

Just began working on a draft article on the new Kerry soccer team ahead of their potential entry into the First Division next season, and as I saw you've an interest in Tralee Dynamos, you might help with improvements/filling in the historical background to flesh out the page. Look forward to hearing from you. Culloty82 (talk) 13:36, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Culloty82,
Certainly, if you'd like to provide a link to the draft, I'll see if there is anything that I can add.
Kind regards,
