you are added the faculty member names of DJ College, some of them are either retired or transferred to another college, so don't mention faculty name. Otherwise pleased come to the college and confirm the faculty member names and departments.

As per my info, these are updated. I will remove the retired ones. I added the retired ones because some editors would add the faculty members who have retired. If you have any updated info, kindly update the article. Thanks! ZaeemAkhtr (talk) 15:02, 24 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There is already a perfectly valid article about this school. If you would like to expand it, please do so. But do not singlehandedly take it upon yourself to delete the work of all those other authors to change the page to a redirect to your very promotional version at D.J. Sindh Government Science College. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 13:23, 9 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm WikiDan61. I noticed that you recently removed some content from D. J. Science College without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to D.J. Sindh Government Science College. While objective prose about beliefs, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Warning icon Hello ZaeemAkhtr, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your addition to D. J. Science College has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied without attribution. If you want to copy from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Dougweller (talk) 14:49, 9 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

D J college

[edit]

you are added the faculty member of DJ College, some of them are either retired or transferred to another college, so don't mention faculty name. Otherwise pleased come to the college and confirm the faculty member names and departments. Thanks for your friendly post to my talk page. We can only have one page for the college. If you think the name is wrong the thing to do is to suggest a change on the talk page, but you will need to show that your name is correct (and is the most common name in English - see WP:COMMONNAME. I can see that might be a problem. Some of your material does look like copy and paste, and oddly I can find some of the material at the website of an Australian college[1] - specifically the bit about "our aim". Which brings me to another problem - not only do we normally not include mission statements (they are all much of a muchness in different clothes and are there to say the college is great), but obviously anything that says "our" doesn't belong in an encyclopedia. Our articles are meant to reflect as much as possible what independent reliable sources say, and need to avoid looking like, in this instance, a college website or Facebook page. Dougweller (talk) 15:54, 9 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

To keep this discussion transparent it should take part on the article talk page. Any links should be discussed there. Thanks. Dougweller (talk) 16:39, 9 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of schools in Karachi, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Aga Khan School. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 05:03, 21 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Pardon me for replying late, was busy due to exams.
I admit that I have mistakenly added watermarked images and it was an honest mistake but what about the other pictures which are not watermarked? Why were those pictures removed? For reference here are the links to the pictures: Pic 1, Pic 2, Pic 3 and Pic 4. Further more, all faculty members names and premises info was directly sourced from the prospectus of the college itself. ZaeemAkhtr (talk) 10:07, 17 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
