Valentin Royer (born 29 May 2001) is a French tennis player who plays mainly on the ATP Challenger Tour.
Royer has a career high ATP singles ranking of No. 194 achieved on 10 June 2024. He also has a career high doubles ranking of No. 778 achieved on 20 June 2022.[1]
Professional career
[edit]2022: First ITF title
[edit]In May, Royer won his first ITF title in Ulcinj, Montenegro, defeating Samuel Vincent Ruggeri in the final.
2024: Grand Slam qualifying debut, Top 200
[edit]In May, Royer reached his first Challenger final in Tunis, losing to Oriol Roca Batalla in the final.[2]
In June, Royer played his maiden Grand Slam qualifying match at the French Open, reaching the second round. In July, he played his maiden Wimbledon qualifying match losing in the first round. In August, Royer played his maiden US Open qualifying match losing in the final round to Gabriel Diallo.
In September, Royer reached his second Challenger in Sibiu, facing fellow countryman Luka Pavlovic in the final.
