The railroad of The Potomac Railroad Company, herein called the Potomac Railroad, which is leased to and operated by the Washington Southern, extends from the latter point [about one-half mile north of Quantico] to a point about one-half mile south of Quantico, where it connects with the railroad of the carrier.


CORPORATE HISTORY

The Potomac Railroad was incorporated by an act of the General Assembly of Virginia passed February 21, 1867.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The owned mileage of the Potomac Railroad, amounting to 1.099 miles, was all acquired by construction under the direction of the carrier. The original road was constructed during the years 1871 and 1872. Between 1902 and 1907 the entire road was reconstructed and double tracked.
