Not a high priority, since the article still needs some work to become a GAC, but I'll probably try to make this into a GAC somewhat soon. Wisconsin has no GA-class or higher road articles yet, and this one might as well be first. --TheCatalyst31 ReactionCreation 02:00, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

This is a nice, short road. I believe that a map would really help the article. I am the GA reviewer, and the lack of a map is the only thing holding it back. I will promote the article, but I hope that a map can be added soon. Thanks, GaryColemanFan (talk) 05:12, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

NY 343 (rework)

Uh, per the A-class review for New York State Route 343, we need a map that details the CT side as well and uses the right colors. Is there any chance this could be fixed soon?Mitch32contribs 12:41, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Try this. But adding the CT section is out of my hands for the time being. Hopefully this will be sufficient. Will also leave explanation on class review. If anyone else wishes to take a different perspective, feel free! image:NY 343 map2.png 25or6to4 (talk) 13:20, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Some Utah maps

Just B-class articles that could use a map. I'd like it if they were without shields, if possible.

I can make the changes to U-201, but see my comments on that talk page first so I can clear up some confusion. Thanks. 25or6to4 (talk) 02:06, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
I've replied there. You can mark this request complete. CL19:57, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

First off, I know this is C-class, but I feel the length permits me to list this under B-class (there is no technical place to put this anyway, C-class isn't mentioned in the headers). Anyway, I'm planning to get this to GA soon, and I'd like a map. Something à la Image:Utah SR 269 map.svg would be great. No shields, that same zoom, and even that positioning would work for the route (though the latter isn't that necessary, just a suggestion). This route existed until 2007 though, that's the tricky part. I'm not familiar with GIS data but from what I know, if someone could obtain old GIS data, this could work (at least I hope so). Regards, CL04:18, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Ok, I can take care of this one, but check the comments on Utah 181's discussion page. 25or6to4 (talk) 13:11, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

This was expanded to B-class recently. It could sure use a map, something like Image:Utah SR 269 map.svg (without shields). I originally filed this request at 25or6to4's talk page (I was commenting there on something else) but he never got around to it. Thanks - CL21:02, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

I'm surprised there's no map in the infobox...and that I haven't noticed it until now. I'd appreciate if someone could make this if they have the time. A map similar in style to the one at U.S. Route 50 in Nevada would be preferred. Thanks in advance. --Ljthefro (talk) 21:46, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

There's an I-215? I have updated the previous maps to add in I-215, plus I have created a basic I-215 map for NV: image:I-215 (NV) map.svg. Would have done a full NV215 loop map, but don't have a NV-specific dataset. 25or6to4 (talk) 17:26, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. Is there any way to get those maps (and the one at I-80) without the gray background? --Ljthefro (talk) 23:36, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Can do. Grey is my personal preference. I have re-uploaded I-15 and image:I-80 (NV) map.svg, one with neutral and one with white. Preference? 25or6to4 (talk) 12:08, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Personally, I like the US 50 example that has no background. However, I don't know if that one meets the standards of map size and such. In lieu of doing something like that, I prefer the neutral background. (For some reason, both maps show up with a small border when viewed in the article's infobox...this does not appear to be the case on most other map images. Any reason why?) Thanks for your help and time on these, 25or6to4. It is greatly appreciated! --Ljthefro (talk) 21:31, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Ok, I can do the null background too! Have reupdated the I-15 as an example. The border is a byproduct of my edit area in ArcGIS. I was able to remove it as well. Enjoy! 25or6to4 (talk) 03:31, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, that's great! Thanks so much! --Ljthefro (talk) 18:32, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

U.S. Routes in Nevada

Any chance someone could create maps for the U.S. Routes in Nevada? That is, of course, if they have the time. The routes:

I'd like all maps in the same style, as discussed under the "Interstate 15 in Nevada" section above. All these routes are plotted on previous map images, so I imagine they shouldn't be too hard to create. None of these are really a priority, but they'll need maps eventually. Thanks in advance! --Ljthefro (talk) 21:49, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

I-115

I-115 aritce has been asking for a map. Can somebody provide a map?--Freewayguy Call? Fish 00:34, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Sure can. image:I-115 map.svg 25or6to4 (talk) 12:01, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

The article already has a map in the infobox, but I would like to request an additional map to be used in the history section. Something similar to the map here would be great. I am going to use it to help the reader visualize where specific cross streets are when I mention them in the history section. The map should be taller then it is wide since it is a north-south highway and it will be placed along the right side of the text. Thanks! --Holderca1 talk 21:14, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Legacy Parkway (future Utah State Route 67)

Lotsa lines

The Legacy Parkway, a freeway under construction, could use a map. This will be a future state route, the route number has to be approved by the State Legislature first. Not sure how mapping under construction routes goes, if the path is dashed or not, but in any event I'd like it without shields. If you need a source for the routing of the Parkway it is here (download the Wasatch Front inset pdf). Thanks - CountyLemonade (talk) 02:43, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Image:Legacy Parkway map.svg Strato|sphere 03:25, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the map! Couple of things though:
  • How do I put this into words...instead of the line curving like an "L" on the southern terminus, it's more of a straight line northbound. I think this map conveys what I'm trying to say
  • The numbers in the shields appear in Times New Roman, is this intentional?
  • The area marked "Ogden-Layton" doesn't reach into Davis County, that's more southern and central Weber County. The map linked shows what cities are present in the area.
I hope I'm not being too picky or anything. If you can't do anything about it that's alright too :) CL03:37, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
That's what I get for trying to export to SVG. Think I'll stick with PNGs. I georeferenced a map at the site you linked earlier to draw in the new highway, have they realigned it since? Strato|sphere 04:05, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
That map that I provided in April was rather vague. I'm not sure if you can georeference (whatever that is) the map that I gave you a couple of minutes ago, because that's more accurate. I drew you a very, very time-consuming map that diagrams the southern terminus :D CL04:29, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
LOL. I'll georeference the new doc and update it later tonight. Strato|sphere 14:30, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
And FYI, georeferencing is taking a standard image, say for example a scanned paper map, and aligning it to the coordinate system of the map you're using. For yours, the intersections of highways are static positions that are easy to locate, so I just match those in the image with where the intersections are in the GIS data and "georectify" it which rubbersheets (stretches) the image and properly aligns it beneath the existing GIS data so I can draw new stuff :P Strato|sphere 14:34, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
Ok, Image:Legacy Parkway map.png It's PNG because SVG is an absolute pain to work with. Strato|sphere 22:57, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
Nice! The map is great, and good to have you back round here CL23:01, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

NY 28's FAC has a request to add the shield to the map, so if I could get that done soon, it'd be great. Thanks, Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 21:12, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

is this still a valid request, or moot since it reached FA? Strato|sphere 00:58, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
It doesn't seem necessary; if there's confusion over what line is NY 28 the map_notes parameter can be used to say "Map of NY 28 (highlighted in red)". --NE2 01:01, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Replacements for maps of formerly proposed roads on Long Island

I've just had a collection of maps that were tagged for deletion, claiming they can be replaced, but I've had my doubts, which has lead to some edit wars I'd rather avoid. In case I'm wrong about this, I'd like to request some replacemnts for the following non-free maps:

These maps are useful for explaining how the selected roads were supposed to have been built. But as they stand now, they're not free. I'd like to see some that don't violate any copyright laws by April 27, 2008 if that's possible. If not, perahps somebody here can photocopy the images, or save them in some other way, and use them as references for replacements. --DanTD (talk) 22:20, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Well, just make sure you have copies of the files saved onto your hard drive. Then, if someone does respond (I lack the knowhow to make maps), you can e-mail them the file or somesuch so they can use it. -- Kéiryn talk 16:05, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

A C-class article (yes, C-class) that I would like to see up to B. The route is quite short, less than a half-mile long. I'm not too terribly picky about this but I'd like it without shields if possible, though it doesn't matter much - CL02:06, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

I just started the page for Florida State Road 113, and I need a map for the page. Thank you for your help. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Morriswa (talkcontribs) 10:03, April 7, 2008

Please note the top of the page, which asks that articles be improved to B-class before you bring them here to request a map. I don't foresee it being a problem since there's not a particularly large backlog, and the cartographers are likely to get around to it when they get a chance regardless. Generally though, this page isn't for articles that you've "just started". -- Kéiryn talk 14:18, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
I echo Keiryn's thoughts as well. It isn't a big issue, but generally the article should be long and complete enough to support a map - which usually means that it should be B-Class. --TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 18:49, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

New York

There are 7,549 articles that need maps "per talkpage". This page isn't for listing every single one of those articles; that's what the tag and category are for. This is just for listing articles that are being actively worked on and improved, and need a map in order to be complete. -- Kéiryn (talk) 03:12, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

A couple of Utah requests

I was looking through B-class articles that could especially use a map and came up with SR-37, SR-48, SR-52 and SR-111. Hope this isn't too much at once. Thanks in advance, CL16:59, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Maps are complete, but the text came out really odd, so beware. Will work on cleanup. image:Utah SR 37 map.svg, image:Utah SR 48 map.svg, image:Utah SR 52 map.svg, and image:Utah SR 111 map.svg 25or6to4 (talk) 03:56, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the maps! The text issues are minor since the red line is really what counts :) As for the SR-48 map, the alignment shown hasn't been used since 2000 (at least the eastern bit of the route); as of now it overlaps with SR-68 for a short while before turning east onto 7000 South. Complete. image:NJ 37 map.svg. Note that for some reason, the PNG converting seems to be messing with rendering the font for the city names (and, for some reason, only the city names). I have tried to adjust the font, but it didn't help any. And the SVG file itself shows everything correctly. 25or6to4 (talk) 04:42, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

This article is severely in need of a map; it will most likely lose Good Article status if somebody reviews it again and it doesn't have a map like it did the first time around. So somebody make one that includes I-10, I-17, US 60 (not the Grand Ave portion), Loop 101, Loop 202, Loop 303, AZ 51, and AZ 143. Thanks in advance. Rko202 (talk) 03:07, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Sorry it took so long: Image:Phoenix Area Freeways map.svg - Algorerhythms (talk) 05:54, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Thank you very much, it looks great! Rko202 (talk) 02:01, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Montana Maps

I assume he means Interstate 15 Business (Great Falls, Montana), but see my comment on the request below. -- Kéiryn (talk) 03:17, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

My first map request. It'd be nice to get rid of the red link there. Granted, the article needs more than just a map, but hey... one hurdle at a time. ---- DanTD (talk) 14:42, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Complete, along with most of the rest of the SC Interstate maps. image:I-95 (SC) map.svg 25or6to4 (talk) 05:29, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. ----DanTD (talk) 13:16, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Ok, have this map done, but it's not the greatest. Feel free to redo it. I will keep working at it. file:ACBC map.svg 25or6to4 (talk) 17:45, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
