Reason: Requested unblock by Shreesmani. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 08:58, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

Looks like it was a proxy, but either it was fixed or it moved on (it's on a fairly dynamic range) to a new IP. No longer proxies under previous proxy settings. Probably safe to unblock. Sailsbystars (talk) 15:53, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

How old is this block? Suffice it to say that it was placed by Curps. Daniel Case (talk) 04:40, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

Reason: Requested unblock by Gtavicecity65. The block reason includes the port numbers 22, 80, 8080. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 08:07, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

8080 is a standard open proxy port, but this IP doesn't seem to be proxying when I try to use it, and on 80 I get an access denied error. It's part of a satellite ISP [1] so I'm not sure sure how their network is set up. Sailsbystars (talk) 03:50, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
I can't activate this as a proxy using myiptest.com on any of 22, 80 or 8080. The report is 'connection timeout' in each case. The IP still responds to ping, so it is online. The Google results suggest a small amount of spam activity. Robtex say this IP is on only one blacklist (opm.tornevall.org), but it seems to only be there for spam reasons. Personally I don't see this as enough reason for a three-year proxy block. The user asking for unblock, Gtavecity65, has not been editing long enough to justify IPBE in my opinion. We could suggest that he use a different IP to access Wikipedia. Whois says this address is in the Philippines, so I don't see a connection to http://gtss.ru. EdJohnston (talk) 04:38, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, I saw the Philippines whois, but if you look at the nearby IPs [2], they all are part of gtss which I can imagine using proxies to cache and compress data. Why whois returns a Philippine company in the middle of that range, I have no idea. Regardless, I agree that the three year block seems unjustified. Sailsbystars (talk) 12:35, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
Aha, had I been smart I would have checked the lexically similar names and discovered that the gtss.ru sites go to completely different IPs even though they have similar names. So that was a complete red herring. The IP does actually belong to a [Philippine provider]. They offer dialup, and dialup could also have some kind of a web-caching service, but I don't see it mentioned on the company's website. They also host servers. I don't think it should be unblocked with that sort of possibility. Sailsbystars (talk) 12:42, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
{{inconclusive}}, but unlikely. Unblocked. -- zzuuzz (talk) 10:40, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

{{notaproxy}} - this one looks a bit on and off, but doesn't appear to have been open for while, and not open now. IP unblocked. -- zzuuzz (talk) 08:14, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

Dhonnyh insists in his unblock request that it's the corporate intranet gateway. Daniel Case (talk) 17:37, 11 March 2011 (UTC)

I've granted temporary IPBE. This report can stick around a short while, until the IP's status becomes a bit more certain. -- zzuuzz (talk) 19:07, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
