In this course, we will discuss concepts, theories, case studies, and exercises that inform ongoing debates about data ethics. Multiple perspectives will be explored and critiqued through study, discussion, and experiential-learning exercises. This will involve questioning Canadian and international examples. With the aim of informing and even empowering future generations of public scholars, we will work together to develop a detailed and nuanced engagement in the moral and pragmatic challenges central to deliberations over the future of Big Data.
