Bibliographies for light novelists

[edit]

Need your opinions on how to structure the bibliography for Gakuto Mikumo. If a series has distinct subtitles as with Asura Cryin', can that be simplified to just the subtitles? And if the author does not have unique titles and just goes by numbers, does it make sense to list all the volumes and their ISBN's? Also how much of it should be in Nihongo extended format? Light Novel ISBNs vs Editions

[edit]

Not all e-book releases have an ISBN, but some do, though it seems we default to only latest available physical ISBNs. I wonder if there might be a benefit to adding in separate ISBNs for ebooks when available. This came up while I was looking at how to modify the Light-Novel > Volume List for the Saving 80,000 Gold In Another World page, where Vol 1 was published in physical AND e-book by Sol Press, then Sol press published vol 2 in e-book only (then went out of business). All three are still available from various places. Then Vertical imprint of Kodansha USA bought the license, and just published a paperback (no e-book) of vol 1 & 2 as Vol 1, and will be publishing the JP Vol 3 as Vol 2 paperback in a few months (not sure if e-book will be available or not). I did my best to edit the article AND talk page to help avoid confusion for readers that might be new to this, but it certainly isn't pretty.

Perhaps, there is a rule about this somewhere else, but I haven't been able to find it. Any advice or pointers appreciated.
