Two articles added to project with template

[edit]

I tagged War of the Bavarian Succession and Hermann Detzner with the project template. These are both FA articles. I also added them to one of the charts as examples of high and low priority, plus a couple of others that are top. Just trying to help out, not being officious. ;). The chart that shows the categorization of articles seems to be coded to Munich, not to the Bavaria project. Auntieruth55 (talk) 17:04, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Task Forces

[edit]

WikiProject Munich can do the Munich articles. But you might want to have a Nuremberg Task Force. Kingjeff (talk) 15:32, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The 1583 Siege of Godesberg has been nominated for Featured Article. This was a Bavarian victory that resulted in confirmation of the Wittelsbach ascendancy in the Electorate of Cologne for the next two centuries (plus a little). A sister article Cologne War has already passed FAC. The present nominee could use additional reviewers. auntieruth (talk) 17:46, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Is this project still active?

[edit]

I know Bavaria-related articles are still being created, but is this project still active? I hope it is. Calistemon (talk) 12:19, 2 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A good few of the registered members are floating around editing but I think the project is dead as such. I came to check myself after seeing that the portal had not been maintained for ages. Any questions --> WT:GER more chance of an answer Agathoclea (talk) 13:41, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, one major article within this project's scope is still missing: Munich Metropolitan Region. It could be created using information from the German article. Do you think you can do something about it? Thank you and prost, Horst-schlaemma (talk) 14:26, 3 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

School article

[edit]

Dear portal members,

The article of the Feodor-Lynen-Gymnasium Planegg in Germany has been created recently by a students group of this school. May the project please check the hole article in order to correct some language mistakes that are maybe still in article? That would be fine!

Have a nice day!

Best regards and thank you in advance,

FAR for Battle of Blenheim

[edit]

I have nominated Battle of Blenheim for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Delist" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. (t · c) buidhe 02:02, 25 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User script to detect unreliable sources

[edit]

I have (with the help of others) made a small user script to detect and highlight various links to unreliable sources and predatory journals. Some of you may already be familiar with it, given it is currently the 39th most imported script on Wikipedia. The idea is that it takes something like

  • John Smith "Article of things" Deprecated.com. Accessed 2020-02-14. (John Smith "[https://www.deprecated.com/article Article of things]" ''Deprecated.com''. Accessed 2020-02-14.)

and turns it into something like

It will work on a variety of links, including those from {{cite web}}, {{cite journal}} and {{doi}}.

The script is mostly based on WP:RSPSOURCES, WP:NPPSG and WP:CITEWATCH and a good dose of common sense. I'm always expanding coverage and tweaking the script's logic, so general feedback and suggestions to expand coverage to other unreliable sources are always welcomed.

Do note that this is not a script to be mindlessly used, and several caveats apply. Details and instructions are available at User:Headbomb/unreliable. Questions, comments and requests can be made at User talk:Headbomb/unreliable.
