Sabretooth (Bestial)

[edit]

Hey, I can understand what you were thinking, and the word isn't absolutely necessary to describe his powers in a dry sense, but it's a very apt word, one I feel is extremely appropriate in this instance. In fact, his powers, and his personality for that matter, ARE bestial in nature. The claws, the fangs, the enhanced senses... they're not only tied to the fact that he's a mutant, but that he's also Lupine, linked to a subset of humanity which evolved from wolves rather than apes (along with Wolverine, Feral, Thornn, Wolfsbane, Sasquatch etc). See the entry on Romulus (Marvel Comics) and Fictional history of Wolverine#Post-Civil War for more info on that.

In any case, the character's beast-like nature is one of his key traits, so I feel that the word does the article service. If you really feel it needs to be removed, let's discuss it on the discussion page. I certainly wouldn't argue with a consensus, but I hope I've made my point here. Cheers! ---D--- (talk) 04:16, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think that Romulus thing has become what Tvtropes.org would call discontinuity. Because Feral and Thornn are/were half -cat-. Not half wolf. Lots42 (talk) 04:02, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I can't say I like the idea myself, and wouldn't be surprised if the Lupine aspect is ignored by future writers and slips out of canon, it IS still an element of an ongoing in-continuity book however. It's a story thread that hasn't been dropped yet despite having clearly been set-up in the beginning issues of Wolverine: Origins nearly three years ago. That doesn't mean it will ultimately be regarded as canon, but it's lasted much longer as a device than most retconned elements do. ---D--- (talk) 12:07, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wolverine page

[edit]

Edit wars never end well. I'd let it go and get an admin on it. Lots42 (talk) 04:01, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There was a slow-paced edit war going on over Wolverine's birthplace. If that wasn't you, sorry. If it was, see above. Lots42 (talk) 06:54, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just wanted to say thanks for the heads-up on the drowning issue... I sadly no longer have the collection I used to, makes it harder to pull issues to fact-check. If no one else objects to the discussion I'll probably add a short bit in a few days, let me know how you like it. Cheers! Enigmatic2k3 (talk) 15:02, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Adamantium

[edit]

It wasn't pure speculation. If you pay attention to Stryker's dialog, he mentions that adamantium was based on the meteorite. He doesn't say that the meteorite was adamantium. Also, in X2, Styker's statement "if you ever process" implies that the metal is man-made. Emperor001 (talk) 01:06, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of NWA Brass Knuckles Championship (Southeastern version)

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article NWA Brass Knuckles Championship (Southeastern version), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Non-notable fighting event

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Question

[edit]

I have a question about NWA Georgia Tag Team Championship and NWA Wildside Tag Team Championship. This article appears identically at both locations. I noticed you made the last couple of edits on each, so I figured you would know which title it should be located at so I could redirect the other article. Thanks. The article King Parsons has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

BLP unreferenced for almost five years. Spammy; like a resume.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Bearian (talk) 18:46, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Professional wrestling newsletter message

[edit]

It has recently been brought to the attention of WP:PW that the newsletter is being to delivered to several users who have not been actively editing for several months. As a result, their talk pages have become increasingly large, unmanageable and slow to load due to a lack of archiving.
In response, this message is being sent to all editors listed in Category:WikiProject Professional wrestling participants to say that anyone who does not list their name at Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling/Newsletter/Active before May 16 will be automatically listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling/Newsletter/Nospam, and will no longer receive the newsletter or any notification of it. If you are added to Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling/Newsletter/Nospam, please feel free to remove your name if you desire.
If you wish to continue receiving the newsletter as normal, please add your name to Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling/Newsletter/Active. If you simply wish to receive notification of a new issue, but not have the full newsletter delivered to your talk page, please add your name to the notification only list.
If you have any queries please contact me at my talk page or leave a message at WT:PW. Thank you for your co-operation. ♥NiciVampireHeart00:36, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion on Project page

[edit]

Hi. Can you give your thoughts in this discussion I've started? Thanks. Happy Holidays. Nightscream (talk) 18:54, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Notice

The article NWA New Jersey State Heavyweight Championship has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Only mentions in searches are wiki and mirrors or the championship lists that by themselves aren't enough independent coverage, minimal reporting on title changes etc. fails WP:GNG. I can also not figure out which promtion used the championship, thus cannot even confirm if the company is notable.)

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.  MPJ-DK  15:24, 28 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
