Keep. The reason it's in a template is because it's a large infobox, and having a huge wall of code at the top of the article is not only messy but is a turn off for new users, and makes it really easy for them to accidentally break stuff. Substituting this would not be an improvement for the article and if I understand things correctly, wouldn't help anything with Wikipedia's servers either (assuming it's being deleted to save space). If there's some weird policy out there saying a template has to be in one or more article, I can easily find another article to transclude this on. ~Adjwilley (talk) 03:25, 23 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

On MediaWiki wikis, "substitution" in relation with templates has a definite meaning, and it is not "replace" in the way you're meaning it. ~~Keep~~ This template I had to make for Unsuccessful Eurovision Song Contest applicants and is still used there! How would you resolve the problem? I don't think you may use Template:Infobox Eurovision country there. Because it are countries that where not yet on Eurovision, but are trying to! That's why I made the infobox to have a simular color and style with the eurovision template.

Infobox template for the stations of the Glasgow Subway. It doesn't have any specialised fields for maps or anything else, so perhaps it could be replaced with Template:Infobox station. eh bien mon prince (talk) 22:09, 22 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Keep Template - This is a specialist template for a small network and it fulfills its purpose. No need for any other specialist fields such as maps as the template has been tuned for its purpose and does not need any other generic info.

{{Infobox station}} is also the incorrect template to be suggested for an potential replacement. {{Infobox GB station}} would would be a better one to consider, however it would need significant editing to allow incorporation of the Glasgow Subway, especially when considering the one interchange station at Partick.

In conclusion, {{Infobox SPT subway station}} meets its needs for the small number of Glasgow Subway stations it covers and replacing it with an existing UK railway station template would require significant editting for very little benefit. --Stewart^{(talk | edits)} 23:12, 22 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this template is to be replaced {{Infobox station}} is not the correct replacement. {{Infobox GB station}} is more appropriate. A generic, fit just because you want to make it fit is not a reason for replacement. {{Infobox SPT subway station}} works, it is not broken, it is stable and there is no reason to mess around with it. --Stewart^{(talk | edits)} 03:22, 28 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

We don't need this anymore. Portals now have a more practical way to be inserted. Moreover, this template has limited features: It won't support multiple portal and it supports up to 9 wikilinks.
